0-60 times launching probs.. possible Boost leak?

Hey all.... I have brand new tires on my FD, and an apexi intake installed. everything else is stock. I also have a brand new clutch. Now I just got my car two weeks ago and I just tried to launch well tonight. I was reading up on having new tires and such and how to launch well so I reved it up to 3k and dropped the clutch and then had horrible wheel hop and let off the gas immediatley. then I tried 3.5 k and got less wheel hop then peeled out the tires, but I backed off because of the wheel hopping. So then I tried slowley slipping off the clutch, and that worked better and i spun the back tires some. All of this was to record a 0-60 time with a passenger in the car on a stop watch. When I rode the clutch I got a time of 6.35 0-60 without flooring it half the time due to my foot being partially off the pedal, and then a horrible shift into second because of worrying about my damn foot. Later I did a rolling start at like 10 mph without chirping the tires at all, and that was like a start at around 2k rpm and I had a really great shift into second. 6.57 seconds 0-60 . both of these were with the ac setting on 2 ( my bad )

So then I became bummed and on the way back to my house I ran into a nice brand new firebird. we raced from a 30 mph roll. I spanked him the first time up to about 100 then the second time he floored it before I did( another 20mph roll start ) and I pulled on him pretty decently but he braked before I could get fully ahead of him.

If your still wtih me I thank you

So my question is... what do I do from a dead stop to launch? Im already launching it pretty high. Should I break my tires in a bit more? I wanted to hit the track sat. Does doing a launch instead of a 20mph roll start make a big difference? I was doing this to test to make sure I didnt have a boost leak since I dont have a boost gauge for 11 more days. So please any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
oh I also had the heat on during the FB race too
Many thanks

Stevo

you shouldn't be launching on a brand new clutch

also, it is not accurate at all to have a passenger timing it with a stop watch

Any FD should really have at least a boost gauge. If you do have a boost leak it would be a distinct wooshing sound. I have had enough of them in my day..
