^^^that mid section looks hideous IMO. what's up with all the tiny circles!?
i've done about 20+ sets now for members of the community. no complaints yet.
i also wrote a guide that i posted on Rotary Addicts (see sig)...
I finally made a guide for the circle placement. If you plan on doing this yourself, make sure to use this guide. I measured the placement of the circles on a real set of '99-tails and made the placement diagram.
You can find the placement guide here in case anyone wants to use it.

truthfully, i would take a set of real lights if someone gave them to me, but i'm just fine having converted lights.
and actually, now mine are LED converted lights.

mx3, you should consider getting some wax remover around your rear emblems. I also am not a fan of the gumball center light 'conversion'..... mazda never did them like that, probably for a reason

Okay, so every week or two I get a PM regarding 99 spec center tail light and if there is any difference between JDM and USDM spec. Well, I got in a set of 3 pc tail lights from a 2001 FD and took some pictures to clarify everything. NO difference exists between US and JDM 99 spec center tail lights, only the outer tails changed. Pictures to prove:
USDM

hmm...
i think functionally they are the same, the lights look identical when they're on
but visually the 99 spec center piece looks different
notice on the right (the series 7/8 aka 99 spec jdm) the red light bar is flush with the black surrounding plastic, where as on the left, (the series 6/usdm one) the red light bar is recessed almost an inch and you can barely see it when its not on.
heres a closeup, the 99 spec is on top
does your 99 spec look like mine bryan?
