*URGENT* Coolant light on

I reinstalled my UIM last night after removing it to change the spark plug wires. When I started the car, the dash flashed five times, and the "add coolant" light came on along with a constant beep. I thought I had installed everything correctly, but does anyone have a clue as to what I might have done wrong?

I want to show off my car to relatives coming in to town for Christmas, but I have just about had it trying to fix this thing. I put out one fire and another one starts!

Thanks

Make sure the coolant level sensor on the filler neck is not unplugged or the wire broken. If you still have the coolant routed through the t-body (stock) you probably spilled a small amount when you took the UIM off. Check to be sure the hose under the t-body is clamped down and then add some coolant.

You probably have air trapped in the cooling system. Take off the cap at the thermostat and refill. Do a search for "burping" the cooling system. There have been a lot of threads on this.

I like to take off the throttle body coolant hose to burp the system. Get's the air out, then I put it back on. Sure you don't have a small leak somewhere?

If your coolant light and buzzer are on it probably means you should put some more coolant in......Or the wire on the sensor came off.

Larz - I've got a sizable leak somewhere, but it's oil. That's the next issue I have to address.

This problem just showed up so it is most likely something I did during the UIM install. Thanks for the posts, this will give me an idea where to look.

The amount of coolant that spills from the uim coolant hoses during the removal of the uim,is not enough to set the buzzer. There is a small black cable(goes to the engine harness near the plug cables) between the back side of the steering pump, and the oil filler neck.kinda difficult to see, you'll have to remove the tb elbow and search with a strong light.Check out If its unplugged...

The wire should be easy to check, but even easier is to peek down inside the filler neck and see where the level is.
