turbojeff you are experienced in RX-7s but don't know about his setup so you shouldn't make those comments. I had every mod on my 94 with the stock radiator being the only thing I didn't upgrade and a greddy 3 row infront of it. My car never got very far past 83C. The stock radiator works great, just like a lot of other info on the forum it's passed on from one person to another not ness. fact

boostgasm nice taste in cars!
your RX-7 looked well done

I went through the same thing twice with the RX-7s and I really enjoyed the experience but now it's time to move on.

Here's what used to be and some last tow pics of the 7s

The big question is, Which one is faster? I would assume a single turbo rx7 should work a 94 viper. The rx7 should also tear it up in the turns. But then again, you OWN a viper, and that says alot. Ive always wanted a viper. Hope you have tons of fun with it.

YOU WILL BE BACK! lol

his seven was the fastest car I've riden in (at 19psi, he tuned higher but I never got a ride before he sold it)...he told me the seven is faster, but totally different power.

its truely a beautiful car...I rode in it two days ago..........okay it was only in a parking lot, but I waiting for my turn to drive it

You think FD3S's have issues?? hahahaha

Early Vipers are horrid.

Not only are they not so good looking.
They have all kinda mechanical electrical issues.

Knew a guy with early Vipers and I quote " worse car he ever owned"
- Leaky targa tops
- quirky electrical stuff, like being locked out the car because door locks won't work
and a host of other issues.

If it isn't 98+ Viper.. Good luck...
You probabably better off with the FD, and probably faster and more reliable..
Nothing like a car built in the 80's or early 90's in the good ole US of A.

Thumbs up

That is a pretty nice looking 3rd gen. Really clean. I even like the sleek lights which generally speaking I am not a big fan of. Which ones are those?
Good luck with the new car.

The viper's potential for power is much higher, so it would seem like a step up if that's what you are looking for, Congrats. I really like the "coupe" vipers in the darker colors.

$24K is a nice way to say goodbye.

X...

good constructive post....the seven was faster, but the viper is a totally different experience...it grunts its way around, it doesn't beg you to stomp on it like the 7....it's more fun to just pimp around slow, but if you want power, it's certainly there....

you can start off in just about any gear, it has ridiculous torque...and for the fun part---

EVERYBODY STARES and takes pictures and follows you, surrenders their first and only daughters, wants rides, begs to pop the hood.....traffic stops, it's a surreal experience and it occurs everytime i take it out for a spin

Cwest...w/o the clear covers. You're right it looks pretty neat.

exciting experience, WOT, upper 7K+, high boost, I'm looking down at two laptops, CRASH!/BANG!/SPARKS, I look up, WTF?!?, I thought electrical sparks were flying out of the crack b/t the hood and fender...I find out the cover flew off and shattered when it hit the windshield. I guess the clear plastic against the sky looked like the engine was arcing.

Why 98+? And you seem to be so "well informed" How does a car that doesn't have electric locks lock you out?
Apparently you have no first hand knowledge of Vipers, To bad because you are missing out on a fantastic machine no matter what year.

exactly..im sure when these people get a chance to ride/drive a viper or other cars they question, their thoughts would change immediately..one of the reasons why im going for the viper myself is because i actually like the way it drives..not o i like the way it looks, it must be cool, let me get it..i dont buy a car i dont drive..

you made an excellent choice, you wont regret this purchase, i root for you all the way man!!! btw, you on the viper forum??

This is exactly true but I thought it was pretty annoying most of the time...most time I just want privacy. Many vette owners would give me the wave. I'm not sure what that was all about I wasn't in a vette!

I always loved the way vipers looked,so i took one out for a test ride at a dealership. It was a red 97 gts with white stripes with 39,000 miles. This was when i had my last fd,back in 2000.To make a long story short,i was not impressed with it at all.It rode too stiff, the sidepipes were too loud, the front tires wandered all over the place, the clutch and brake were too close together,it was too hot inside the car,and the stereo sucked. But it did draw a lot of attention.with all the cops around here, not a good idea.I liked my 98 c5 mn6 better.

really? thats weird, it must have been a lemon cause the one i drove it actually rode better than my FD now..unless my fd sucks lol

with the windows up, you barely get wind noise (which is good for a sports car), only thing that sucked is that it tends to fishtail easy so you have to be good with the throttle and hard turns.i thought the nose was very firm which was good since its nose heavy and the front is long..clutch and brake pedals were fine, i didnt listen to the radio at the time lol and it was around fall so i didnt feel hot..

i had a good experience with my test drive
