**BOOST GAUGE AND HOLoGEN BULB HELP** quick q?

i have an hksboost guage and i broke the bulb...i went to hardwar store and got a brighter hologen 10w bulb that fits...i installed it and the guage is really hot(because its hologen bulb???) is this bulb too much for the guage will it start a fire? ect...it just seems hot but then again ive nver felt the guage b4 the swap.....i also remember when hologen lamps used to catch fire in homes.....any help is appreciated

Yes, the bulb is too hot. Power = heat. If you can't find a proper replacement buy one from www.digikey.com.

Most FD fires start from a fuel leak. Dont' be the first to lose it from gauge lighting.

i did have proper replacement....i wanted a brighter light i was just askin if it WOULD start a fire

What's the original bulb wattage? If it was 7.5W and you're going to 10W, I'd say go ahead. But if it's a 4W bulb I wouldn't put in a 10W.
