$5 Digital Temp gage

Used just as a back up gage. Easy to modify.

For $5, how accurate do you think it will be? Do you really want something that looks like that in your car?

Ghetto, but practical. Nice (not Rice) Idea.
Where did you get the original gauge and what did you do to modify it.
What are you monitoring?

Talking

Guys,
I do have a digital gage in my I/P cluster. Thats there to display temperatures with the ignition off, like seeing heat soak etc.It displays within 2 degrees the temperature of my digital gage. I can move the input to areas where I want to see temperatures. I know its value isn't the way it looks. I have used it to gage the effectiveness of my oil cooler which I mounted a fan to. I have also used it to gage the temp of my I/C(two fans), so think about somethings potential first before sending the Scud's flying...

I got the gages at Harbor Freight, originally used to read A/C temps. from the vents or what ever you wish. The unit had a tube connected to the back. I just open it up and removed the tube and spliced what ever length of wire I needed to preform the tests. I like to use technologies which are out there to suit my needs. Someone spent a lot of R&D developing this ghetto thing and now it's value on the open market has dropped but it can be modded to preform tasks it was not designed for quite well. In the process people learn.
