i just called my warranty company and talked to one of the adjusters..and he said $2000 is way too high..like a thousand too high..
I am leaving a message for the guy in charge of my claim and talk to him personally...
he said nothing is finalized yet and once its approved, he will call me back and see if we can take it else where..
thanks guys for the suggestions..atleast now it wont be a third party doin the talking and i get to talk to warranty myself.
thanks..will update later....

No warranty company can choose the place who fixes your car. Take your car to a real rotary mechanic. The dealer you are at sounds like a tool.
My mechanic quoted me a few hours to upgrade from the single base oil cooler to the R1 dual set-up. The dealer is clearly trying to make some extra cash.

Damn, for $1900 I could do a dual setrab 34 row oil cooler with AN fittings/Hose Ends/-10 steel braided line and still have enough to buy a whole lot of beer.
Something sounds VERY fishy if you ask me.

yeah, I agree with rynberg. Cuz the dealer knows damn well you're getting other stuff covered under wanranty. So, getting more from you might be fine with you mentally.

Ok...all this and you haven't mentioned (unless I missed it) what the warranty work is for. Wreck? Failed equipment? What? That would be a good thing in trying to explain why the warranter (I guess) wants something to come out of pocket from you and why they're claiming it needs to be from a dealer.

If the warranty company requires replacement due to a claim then they should pay for it. Read the terms of your warranty, though.
Find another shop. Chances are when this dealer doesn't get his way the rest of the job will be full of short cuts. Be sure to let them know they lost you due to their greed and file a claim with the BBB.

no, my radiator was leaking...so i had them check my turbos and bushings... they agreed to pay for the radiator and bushing..but i HAVE to pay for the oil cooler lines in order for them to do the turbos... now i HAVE to do the oil cooler lines if i want ANYTHING to be done..
I just talked to Ray at Malloy and he also agrees its too high... he said he will ship me the parts and labor shouldnt be more than a couple hundred dollars... so I am gonna take it to a different shop once everything gets approved.

How the hell does a warranty company dictate HOW a repair should be done? Why do the oil cooler lines need to be done anyway? I fail to understand what one thing has to do with the other.

they say when u change the turbos, the lines need to be changed also because it can be contamintated or something.. but they will only cover $3K for this claim and $4K overall.... so I am gonna take it to a different shop and have them work on it... should be cheaper..
now I NEED a link for some remanufactured turbos... for CHEAP....

Could this just be a misunderstanding? Could it be that what they actually want you to replace are the Turbo Oil supply/drain lines and not the actual Oil Cooler lines?
Oil cooler lines are heavy lines.. I can see asking for them to be flushed.. That's reasonable. Replacement of the oil supply/drain lines is a common request when replacing a turbo. I think someone's confusing which lines need to be replaced.

I'd interpret that as the one oil feed line from the block to the turbos (it's in 2 pieces) and the 2 drain lines from the turbos back to the block. That should be under $100 and the labor should be free since they'll have the turbos off anyway.
Make sure they're not trying to talk you into the wrong thing.

1st, why do you have to replace the oil lines anyway?
2nd, the oil lines alone will not give you the whp you noted, just that they maybe able to handle an engine putting out that much.
3rd, I understand why the insurance want's the dealer to do the job, it's the only way they can be sure the job is done correctly but is this insure something like an extended warrenty? Becuase otherwise, you shouldn't even have called them in the first place.
Lastly, you can do the job yourself - infact, I am putting to gether a dual oil kit with all the hardware (Earl's) and an installation guide and plane to sell it for around $700 but it's also something you could do on your own (given a little time). $1900 is just to much money for such a small task - it's the labor that makes it so much!
