$13K for a 1993 RX-7 R1 Sound ok?
Does $13K for a 1993 RX-7 R1 sound OK? I've seen pictures, and the car looks pretty clean. According to CarFax, no history problems as well. Here's the details for his advertisement:
"Description: 1993 RX-7 R1 Black. Very fast! Very clean inside and out, looks great! It's hard for me to let go of my dream car, so I'm looking for a good home for my baby. Selling because I need a car my wife can drive and my baby can ride in. 97K on chassis, but 10k on new rebuilt engine. Engine done by Rotary Experts @ Checkpoint Engineering in Sacramento CA when it belonged to the previous owner. I recently moved the car from Sacramento so it has California emissions and is totality rust free. The previous owner also installed Tokico 5 way adjustable shocks & springs that lower it about an inch. All the Mazda logos have been replaced with Efini logo's (the brand it was sold under in Japan, very cool!). The R1 model is rare and only made in 1993. It included stiffer suspension, no cruse, no sunroof, no rear wiper, suede cloth seats, dual oil coolers, a front air dam, rear spoiler, and a very nice looking red front chassis brace. Basically the race car model, as if it wasn't fast enough already. This car gets a lot of looks."
Let me know if you think this sounds like a good deal... Thanks!

sounds like a good deal to me. as long as it has a clean title and a recent rebuilt motor. there are a lot of things to look for in a used rx7 and you can find just about everything to look for in these posts. i would do a search for buying rx7s. you'll find everything you need to know and what to ask about the car. in my opinion the price sounds good for what you are getting especially with a rebuilt motor. anyway good luck!

I've asked him problems regarding his car, and this is what he said... Please let me know if any of these problems sounds substantial:
"The main issues with the car are the suspension bushings are original so they are starting to wear out. The bushings in the rear toe links are causing a popping sound in the rear w/ momentum changes (Low speed only). Yesterday when I was getting my oil changed @ Mazda I had them check my front breaks which where making a creaking sound for the last couple of weeks. They said the front pads where not seating properly and where wearing uneven and that the hardware for the calipers should be replaced ($50). They recommended pad replacement. Of course being Mazda, they wanted $260 for the pads. I held off on doing it because they did not have the pads in stock and wanted me to prepay for the order. Since there is a very real possibility that I might sell the car this weekend, I did not want to buy pads for a car I might not have any more. The last issue is that there is a slight oil seep coming from the secondary turbo. The Mazda Tech told me that the turbo works fine but it won't fix it's self. He not to worry about it until it becomes a problem."
Thanks Guys!
