Zenki/chuki vs kouki combo fog light wiring

i can’t find anything anywhere, buut long story short I’m buying some combo fog lights for my FD and I have the option of the zenki/chuki or kouki wiring options, they say 99-02 is kouki and 92-98 is zenki, but my dilemma is I have a 92 with a 99 spec front bumper. I asked the company for a picture of each plug so I can compare it to mine and they don’t seem to respond when I ask for a visual example. Does anyone have more info on this? Thanks!

Fog lights and combo lights are not the same thing. Which one is it, or both?

For your reference the numbers seen below will correspond to the first number after FD3S- on the JDM frame number.

1型-3型 Zenki
4型 Chuki
5型-6型 Kouki

The 1型-4型 (AKA so called "1992-1996") is wired the same and uses the same lights for either the Fog lights or Combo Lights. Meaning Chuki is not a part of this conversation as it is the same as Zenki.

For a 5型-6型 (AKA so called "1999-2002") bumper on your car you would need the harness for 1型-4型 (Same as USDM) then custom splice it onto the JDM late model lights on your bumper.

Wow that is a lot of very useful information, thank you! The car came with the 99 spec front bumper and combo lights already in it, if I took a picture of the plug End from the wiring harness, would you be able to tell me for sure which one it is?

I'm going to assume you're talking about the bumper turn signal lights in the 99 bumper. Be aware that aftermarket 99spec bumper lights and OEM Stanley bumper lights are not the same. They do not use the same harness. Not to confuse you anymore.

Aftermarket 99 bumper lights such as DEPO, TYC, etc, have a harness that is plug and play into the factory USDM 93-95 harness.

OEM Stanley 99 bumper lights require an intermediate harness that plugs into the bumper lights and the factory 93-95 harness. RHDjapan sells the harness. I'm sure they may be available elsewhere or you can build your own.
