Yet another Valuation Thread Rx7 on Bring a Trailer

I saw this for sale on BAT, was surprised that a 93 Touring with 112k reached 17k in bidding and reserve was not met. Granted the car is in great shape, with a recent rebuild and complete mechanical and body/interior refresh.

Are we finally seeing an increase in values for FDs even with higher mileage? I figured this would be 13-15k at best, and bidding at 17k still didnt meet reserve.

Looks like a nice car. Anyone else think its odd that the car has a bose stereo, and no rear wiper? If its a true touring model, it should have a rear wiper.

If you look closely at the rear end pics, the hole where the rear wiper goes has a plug in it.

Bringatrailer cars' values are usually slightly inflated from my experience. Still a nice car nonetheless. I think ~15k would be a fair price for that car. Value of nice FD RX7s are def creeping up slowly.

Clearly values are way up. If you have to ask you haven't been FD hunting recently.

No way to really get a grip on this cars value without seeing the paint and driving it etc...

If it's all great it's a 20k FD if not it's 15k and below.

Values aren't up until they exceed $30k in 1993 dollars

That's actually my car, I was on the fence so decided to see what would happen on BaT. Honestly for $17k I'd rather keep it, I get more enjoyment out of the car than that. I think these cars are going to ultimately be a fantastic investment. I'm going to finish the little stuff mentioned in the ad and just enjoy it for a while.

By the way, the rear wiper was deleted. I purchased an aluminum wiper delete plug and had it painted to match. I find the rear wiper to be a wart on the otherwise smooth exterior profile of the FD.

This 37k 93 VR base manual with a respray just sold for $26k. I think we'll be seeing more of these on BAT.

DANG!

Prices are indeed moving higher

Looks like the under carriage was steam cleaned. When you go to that kind of trouble you are selling a classic for sure LOL
