Looks like Mazda took the hint. They are restoring the first-generation MX-5 in Japan now: Mazda will now restore your Mk1 MX-5 - in Japan | Evo

I'm hoping the RX-7 cars are next.

In other news, Toyota and Mazda are partnering up: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2017/08...ory-in-the-us/

I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe today.

I find it satisfying to fix stuff. I have a 43 YO Chevy G30 van that tows my 28 YO race car trailer. My F2000 racecar is 23 YO. My Sears lawn/garden tractor is 32 YO. And of course my FD was purchased in March of 1992.

I'm excited and hopeful this will give Mazda a push in the right direction with potentially being able to tap into Toyota's economies of scale and market base. Doubtful, as the average consumer will have no idea, but one can hope.
