Thank you, Robb!

Thanks for providing the update and informing the forum about the corrective action. Would it be forward to ask about the punishment towards the rogue member?

Cheers,
George

The offending admin was banned from the Club the moment his indiscretions were discovered. He was offered every opportunity to provide reasoning and/or justifications for his actions but he coyly refused to provide anything 'on the record'.

Robb,

Thank you again for the additional feedback. Although it is sad to learn of a well-seasoned Admin's punishment.

Cheers,
George

Hi, everybody. I appreciate the Rx7Club staff allowing me to come back. Very happy to be here. I probably should go to the new users section and say hello. And, while so many posts and threads are lost, I think I have a back up of my build thread as of sometime in 2011. I should email the NSA for the rest.

It's just good to be back.

Does this mean we'll be in each other's "friends list" again?

..jokes aside, welcome back. :-)

Robb,

Thanks for stepping up and handling this. The loss of posts is unfortunate, but what can you do.

Is there an updated email for Internet Brands in case this happens again?

Vince

I'm looking into what the heck is up with that contact us email, but anyone can send me a PM at any time, and contrary to what some apparently believe it will not fall on deaf ears, there will not be repercussions for contacting me/us and we will take action swiftly if required. We're ultimately here to support you, the community. We obviously have business concerns but really all we want is to make your experience a positive one.

I was told that you ran the Chris Carlisi memorial event for two years in which several thousands of dollars were donated to the charity to support the Juvinile Diabetes Foundation (more info here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-gene...017-a-1114627/ )

During those two years, the foundation did not receive any of the charity donated, which would have been your responsibility to transfer those donated funds.

While your posts may have value to the community via the forum, your integrity to the foundation and as a general decent human being are put in question. Could you, perhaps, rebute this statement with some proof or fact so it can be put to bed?

personally, I wouldn’t want a rumor spread of me taking money from cancer victims, burn victims, or in this case - juveniles with diabetes.

thanks!

dhahlen, et al:

The question of "why an admin would have taken action against your account" was already answered by an Internet Brands representative. Second, this thread or forum is not about proliferating slanderous remarks. By stating, "I was told that..." is second-hand information and the rest of your post may be considered a personal attack. Finally, if you have a problem with Gordon or anyone else then take it elsewhere. Otherwise, it has no place here. Please refer to the FAQ on user conduct.

For a quick reference, refer to Items 4 & 7:
"Personal attacks against other forum members will not be tolerated, nor will any type of "trolling" for a fight in any forum (including the Difference of Opinion (DoO) section) or for any reason."

"Don't make slanderous accusations. If you have a problem with another member or business, and cannot prove it absolutely, don’t bring it into the forum. It could be treated as grounds for a lawsuit if you do. Provide your proof in any such posts. Posts with accusations but no proof will be deleted, and the poster will be notified. If your beef is over a purchase/sales experience, we have an area of the forum devoted to that, the "Good Guy/Bad Guy" boards."

Now, who is here to comment on the thread title or wish to welcome back a forum member?

Cheers,
George

I think Gordon should furnish a response to the questions being aired. Seems only fair.

I want to respond to the rumor that I in some way took donations made over the 4 years that I held the annual Carlisi BBQ event. Rumors Rich Farrell has spread for years, but has never confronted me with. The rumor seems slanderous to me. I have repeatedly asked people who have heard the rumors what evidence was offered that I had not made the donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. I have also called the JDRF and asked them about the donations that were made, but they say they do not have sufficient information on donations made by money order to tell me. I would note that David Hayes, If I remember correctly, made a $1,000 donation directly by check to the foundation in 2011 and I wrote out a check for $500 that same year. I cannot prove that I did not take the donations, but I do not have any idea what evidence there is that I did, and don't think anyone should be making such a terrible allegation without any proof.

Let me just note that I held a BBQ and meet to honor my friend and employee, Chris Carlisi, from 2008-2011. Every year we rented porta-potties and either bought cooked food or bought food and cooked it and donated items to be auctioned in later years And, while there were no dollars expended, we had to prepare the property and clean it up. One year Rich and his friends helped with that. I think the first year. The notion that we would pocket some hundreds of dollars of donations is ludicrous. I started the event to honor my friend. It was a get together of friends to eat, talk and look at cars, and talk about Chris.

It puzzles me that 7 years after the last event I held, Rich decided to ban me for something that supposedly happened 7 years ago. He could have banned me years ago.

^ I can confirm that I made donations directly to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF) the several years I attended the Carlisi event. When I was confronted a number of years ago with the issue in question about Gordon's donations - not from Rich but from someone close to him - I asked for proof but was never provided anything. Therefore, I considered it a false rumor and as such, never brought it up with Gordon. One has to ask themselves, why go through all the amount of time and effort for such an event to honor a friend, all to pocket a few hundred bucks or a couple of thousand dollars? Both Gordon and Rich know how much effort is required and the work most certainly outweighs the potential small monetary gain.

For what it is worth, when this issue came up, I personally called the JDF to ask about records of my donations over the years I attended and they did not have any records for me, nor have I ever received year-end statements from them like I do for a number of other charities to which I contribute. Nice people but they seemed very disorganized.
