what to do with old 13b
I was going to rebuild my engine (rear rotor and housing got ruined when a seal broke)
buut, after pricing everything out and realizing that with the parts i can find right now it'll cost me 4000 bucks to get it done and then i'll probably blow it up again in a couple years and have to spend it all over again.. that I'm just not going to do it. i'll just spend 3-4 times that much and do an LS swap. i know chevy engines well any way so it'd be better for me.
but no one local has an rx7 so i don't know what to do with all the parts. the front rotor and housing are still in great shape.. the tranny is good, everything is good except rear housing and rotor. even the turbo is good thankfully the piece that broke off got wedged into the rotor and didn't come out and hit the fins of the turbo.
anyway, i can't post in classifieds
so if anyone knows where i could sell them let me know.

If you go to the CDN section, you have people as close as Halifax that may be able to give you some Rebuild info.
I know there is info in the Main CDN section that will list some rebuilders in ONT but that requires shipping.
Sometimes you gotta pay to play, and honestly it may seem like you pay,pay,pay..BUT when you get to PLAY..there is no game like it!

I also thought about going the LS route and sold many of the parts from my blown motor. I was actually able to find a really good deal on a fresh rebuild with a single turbo conversion. Check the listings in Quebec, seems like every time I'm out East there are a lot of FDs around.
If you want to do a true aluminum block LS you are going to pay a lot of money just for the engine, I ended up getting my whole car (13b and single turbo) for about $3500 bucks less than I could find an aluminum LS 5.7L in my area.

thanks for the replies. I know you have to pay to play, it's going to cost me A LOT more money to put an LS in the car than it would to put another rotary or rebuild my rotary. I can rebuild my rotary for about $4000 now, or i could buy one from quebec for $2500 with good compression ETC -- but i just don't want to go with another rotary. I found an LS1 (which, yes, is all aluminum) and a t56 with 55k on it for $7000 - and im happy with that. There are some cheaper ones on ebay but with at least double the miles.
so that, plus buying an aftermarket computer (probably go with megasquirt) and all the other parts ill need + the tune - i know it'll add up -- but when i start my car and it has that v8 rumble im gonna be on cloud 9 haha
I just don't want to bother going rotary again. i did love my single turbo rotary noise when i stepped on the gas though, and it was a good topic with people who didnt realize engines could be made differently than the regular piston engine lol.
i just think that the car would be a lot more reliable with another engine.
