BC 12 Blades of Cool

Did someone mention the Spirit R (& RZ) six blade cooling fans? I wonder if they are plug and play in other models? Set on ebay atm for C$500 (x-Thailand).

They're just S8 fans, the SR and RZ didn't have different fans to other S8 models. It is an upgrade, although the much cheaper route with the same result is to swap rx8 fans into your FD shroud.

Yeah, in the first post. :P

But Ceylon is right, RX-8 is the way to go. Lots more of them around and way cheaper. I picked up a really, really clean set for $100 from a local junk yard.

car-parts.com is your ally in that search.

BC RX8 vs RX7

Oh. I'll have to look at my S8 fans some time.

Would RX8 stuff qualify as "OEM+" for the RX7 build theme contemplated in this thread?

I believe so, looking at pictures of the interior embossing, it shows the same part number.

So are a lot of the little items. The original mirrors leave a lot to be desired and these replacements are technically OEM. Although I wouldn't run them because 1. Price. 2. I'd still need new glass to use on a LHD.

I just wanted to add to the thread that the Spirit-R ebrake handle and boot, and the shifter boot are NOT bolt-on (i just mounted a set in my car). They are genuine leather tho, compared to the fake leather in our cars.

For both of them, you need to swap out the plastic mounts for the boots with the one currently in your LHD car. While its pretty easy to do on the shifter boot, the ebrake boot is a tad worse.

All i all i recommend just getting a redline Shifter boot, since they should be very similar. The ebrake is a bot harder since the top is glued on. So there i would still buy the Spirit-R part, and use that with modifications.

I've been using horns from the Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager for a while -
