Thinking about selling

I agree. It's a top five car ever made. Nothing I have drove has the fun factor that an fd has.
If you live in a bustling city the last car I'd DD is a sports car. However in a rural area like Charlottesville I love to DD my FD and no other car would fit the bill as well for me. The RX8 is soft, big, lazy, FAT, wobbly/leaning pig compared to any decent FD with bolt ons.
The FD is a super car and the RX8 is a good sports car. The difference is night and day. Hell my moderately modded track FD would come close to keeping up with the tube framed triple rotor RX8 race car. That's how good this chassis/car is.
DAMN no respect LOL
PS the 1st thing you'd pick out is steering feel? F#CK. The FD has the best steering feel of any car I've ever driven and I've driven caymans, multiple GT3s etc.... UNBELIEVABLE. Your FD needs to get to the shop pronto.
PSS The other great thing about DDing my FD is simply looking at it each time I walk up to it. Yes, in my eyes it's art work or worth owning to simply admire. It's a top 5 car ever made IMO, yes I'm extremely biased but I also feel there are many, many people/owners who don't really understand what they own.

One final thing that others have said on here. I got out of my last one a number of years ago and the time it took to find a 'good' one at a reasonable price this time around was much much harder. If sell now, resign yourself to not owning one again or be prepared to spend a bundle finding your next one.

No way an RX8 drives better, unless you mean comfort/features etc., and if that is what you are looking for buy a 3-series. The FD is a real sports car and if you can't find joy on any and every freeway on/off ramp or every quick set of S turns then your soul is starting to die.
Comfort is part of why I would rather daily my Mazda3 or RX-8 over the FD. Another part of it is they are newer Mazdas that drive well. Another part is I don't care if they get door dings, rock chips or rear ended nearly as much as the FD.
As far as having fun on the streets in the FD.
I race the RX-8 and FD so when I try to "have fun" in the turns I end up doing triple digits around tight onramps or cloverleafs. Its not worth the risk. I can push the Mazda3 in the same areas at 70mph on (max performance) street tires and have fun.
I stopped going on cruises with friends because driving the cars slow is boring and to make all but the tightest twistiest roads fun you have to be going crazy speeds- the cars potential is too high.
------
I do have a couple secluded roads from nowhere to nowhere with no driveways or side roads I favor.
But most of all, I have fun in the FD racing. Its still a fairly fast, competitive car and the fact that it looks amazing and is easy on tires is icing on the cake to me.

After reading many of the posts on this thread, and taking the car out for a couple of drives, I am backing away from thoughts of selling it. Yesterday was a cool day here, and opening it up on a back road gave me a much needed shot of enthusiasm.
Many thanks to those of your who offered words of encouragement. I wont be selling it any time soon.
Thanks, Adam

It's funny, I've been thinking the same thing about my rx-7 lately. I take it out maybe 3-4 times a year for a blast but otherwise I haven't been thinking about it much for the last 7-8 years (house, wife, kid). Then I bought a 2016 VW R which sits next to my 7. Somehow it reinvigorated my excitement for the 7. It might have just been cars in general that fell on the back-burner (for me). I'm tempted to pay off the remainder of what I owe on the R by selling the 7, but I sold an R1 back in 98 and I still regret it. So the 7 is going to have a space in the garage for a while to come.
Plus, even after neglecting it and subjecting it to high pressure car washes for 6 years, one good hard wax and it still looks awesome!

Don't do it.
This is from someone who has no FD but it is one of my dream cars. I drove a 2009 Nissan 370Z until December 2014. For various reasons, I traded it in on a 2010 Dodge C?Challenger R/T. Within a week, I wished I had never sold the Z. So much more fun to drive. I have had 8 sportscars, 2-seaters, and will always be a sportscar guy. Drove me nuts. I now have another Z. Still thinking I must get an FD before my days are done...and I'm about to retire. I would love to have your car. I would probably sit in the garage in a chair and stare at it for days on end. Keep the car.

Nearly two years after posting this thread, I decided to sell the car. I listed it in the 3rd gen for sale section, and sold it for $35,000. I have received payment in full from a very happy and excited member on this forum. The new owner is working on his schedule, to see when he can come to pick up the car.
I'll still be hanging out on the forum, so don't be thinking that you will be rid of me so easily

There is something magical about this car in stock form but add some quality bolt on mods and some might call it the GOAT!!!
Congrats to the new owner of the GOAT!

I had been kicking around the idea of getting an electric car, when opportunity came a-knocking
A friend of mine was going to trade in his Prius to buy a brand new CRV. I offered to pay $400 over the trade in offer from the dealer. The deal worked out good for both of us. Its a 2015 model with 13,500 miles on it. I picked it up for $14K. Its not quite as fast as the FD, and it doesnt quite handle as well either. Maybe Ill put some Ohlin's on it, and get one of those ludicrous buttons installed
