Sokietech Hood Damper?

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?p...1&keywords=rx7

Seems suspiciously cheap. Anyone have any experience with these? I have a stock hood which I don't plan on switching out, btw.

Great for the money

We have these. Easy to install, work great and a really fair price.

When purchased, they did leave out a bracket, but one email and they shipped it right out.

They've been on for about a year now with no issues.
Much better than using the stick!

That may be, but they're also twice as expensive. Plus these are carbon and I'm THAT GUY.

Go to town then, let us know how they work out

You're also that guy that advertises in his sig, which isn't allowed. Not my rules (I don't care really) but the forum rules. Please remove said spam from your sig, instead perhaps put up a picture of your pimping carbon FD

They fit perfectly, installed easily, and look the ****. The wave on the cf is perfect, and the actuation is smooth and gradual. I'll upload some pics after I wash my car next. I seriously cannot recommend these highly enough; an absolute steal at $70.

you straight up copied my hood damper bracket that I designed and of course yours is cheaper because it's just a copy and I don't know where you make them maybe you have a hookup. go ahead and make your money I'll take the respect just like other people who copy other people's s*** and put their name on it.

Damn, what prompted digging up a 10 year old thread to post this? Was this guy promoting it but also the vendor?

what prompted it was im not out of business and a product was copied minus a logo - alot of that going on apparently.

granted i make stuff to order and im back logged - still I just saw this

individual or vendor - if you copy something to make money on it, i feel the person who made it has right to say something.
you can say rotary extreme copy or what ever - but when you say its your design that just aint right.

you - NOT Joe Koch, you Sokietech

Having owned a Sokietech damper kit i must say its not much to copy. Its a plate with a 90° bend and a ball screw on it. Its more or less the simplest way to do it, and would take 2 mins to figure out.

Also, its made by loads of others with the same style.

Now the other kits mentioned is pretty sweet and smartly built tho

10 years makes a difference

Obviously I overreacted but I'll explain why. sokietech did not list a picture of their brackets when I went to their site, they said they were custom machined brackets. I also saw another thread saying they were using sokietech but they had machined aluminum brackets just like the ones I make. They were also selling that kit for 150.

I feel I probably need to take a chill pill because everybody copies everybody to a certain extent. But it just shouldn't be where you copy something from someone exactly how they make it and then put your name on it.

well what happened was I saw this thread that said sokeitech and then the other thread I also said sokietech but he went from sokeitech to second bolt racing so that's where I got confused so I crapped on that thread sorry for crapping on this one.

It's all good man. You need to make a thread when you get caught back up and relaunch the website with your products on it. You've been around for long enough that your company name means something.

Vince, Thanks man - for real.

It was the vm GB I did that did me in. But I have just 3 FC vm kits left to do.

Anyways - sorry for the thread jack and being all butt hurt - Im just really passionate about keeping something in production for the community.
