Social media killed the forums.
This is also pretty dated but occasionally I still read thru it... IIRC these are the OG's of the forum... RX-7 *** Lightning in a World of Thunder *** RX-7 .
there was a USENET newsgroup back in the 90s of 3rd gen owners who then migrated here. A lot of the early FD websites were from people in that group. You'll hear people refer to it as "the big list" in old posts.

The forum took off pretty fast which caused us to keep upgrading servers and bandwidth. As I recall it got hacked early on and we lost some data. It also cost a lot to keep running.
Iv been here for 10yrs.
I attribute all of the success of my builds to soley this forum.
If it wasn't for the vast amount of information, build threads, inspirations shared, and people who openely, and free of charge, help to make FD's stay alive, rotary wouldnt be what it is today
Social media has ruined everything.
But I will never leave this forum behind. Those who are easily swayed may leave but the true rotary warriors know never to forget their home

It was up and down a bit and some of the earliest stuff was lost due to a hack. Then Jason went to a more robust and secure format. We all had to sign up and start over. Then there was some issue with the RX7store.com license and ended up becoming RX7store.net. I remember Jason trying to get the rights back and it being frustrating... Among plenty of other history.
Maybe Jason will talk about it.

Just as some people have a daily routine reading the newspaper...I come here everyday
First I go through the 3rd Gen section, skip through and see if there is any new posts. Then I make my way to the 3rd Gen classifieds. And then I might end up in the lounge for ***** and giggles
Oh and by the way, for all you peeps that spend a lot of time reading the forum threads may I suggest switching to the "-- 37-RX7-Dark" theme setting, it makes a big difference for eye fatigue and IMO looks better. I switched to the dark theme like 6 years ago and never went back. You can find the drop down menu at the bottom of the page on the left hand side.
