rear subframe bolts

rear subframe bolts

Before I break anything, how is this nut properly removed? Any why the weird shape for this bolt?

The stud the nut is on is a little weird for factory assembly. The whole subframe is pre-assembled then lifted up to the chassis and tightened.

makes sense. I think they also use the flats on that stud to torque it into place in the chassis prior to welding. I'm pretty happy the whole thing came apart without stripping the bolt or screwing up the weld. Would be really nice if Mazda used anti-seize in applications like this.

thats the crazy part. i dont think they had that in mind that in the future people would be taking apart sub frames and stuff lol
