Quickjack $100 off sale

For anyone interested in this system, Quickjack is offering $100 off on all models through the end of this month. Use discount code SNOW to get the discount.

Just ordered a 5000EXT for myself, it along with all the other models are on back order for 2-3 weeks depending on the model. But the discount code still works.

Good tip.
Got one of these earlier this year on a similar discount.

Love. It. To. Death.

Just got mine. They were out of the grooved blocks so I had to groove them myself, but otherwise perfect tool.

How tall would you say it can raise to safely and comfortably? Enough space to say.... drop the tran without hassle?

I might be able to use the 4" blocks and get 18". The jack ordered by the OP goes an inch higher.

IMHO a Quickjack is a great tool, but it's no lift.

For doing suspension work or work on the front or back of the car, it does great. For doing a clutch job it can be in the way. Typically I get under and go out from under the side of the car multiple times when doing a clutch job, this is also where I pull the trans out. With the Quickjack you can't get in and out on the side of the car. However, you can use the Quickjack to get the car in the air, put it on jack stands, then take away the Quickjack.

Also, when doing a clutch job, get a Harbor Freight trans jack -

Changed my life when doing clutch jobs. You can safely and easily hold the trans in the air to carefully get it lined up and pushed home. SO much better than balancing it on a floor jack or having a bunch of guys try and hold it in the air when lining it up - been there, done that.

5000EXT is the model I have and the fit is perfect. 3500 will obviously work as well; but i also wanted the ability to lift the wife's SUV and the 3500 wasn't going to do that.

I have the 3500, but that's partially because I also want it be able to lift my other car. The 3500 just fits the jack points on the FD.

For just a FD RX7, you could get by with the standard length models, and the 3,500 # unit is good enough. I have a couple of vehicles with longer wheelbases and having the "EXT" size makes it a little easier to catch the lift points on those vehicles (that also are a little heavier than 3,500#). I actually wanted to get the 7000EXT, and I think it may work with the FD but the tire clearance was very close due to the 7000 being about 1 inch longer - my measurement put the 7000 as just at the limit of acceptable with the FD whereas the 5000 had the extra inch of clearance. I didn't want to take a chance it wouldn't work but I think it probably would have. So for the FD, either the 3500 or 5000 standard size or 5000 extended size will work.

I guess the sale worked because now the delivery is projected for March!

I should add that there is a new $100 off code, which is: BIGGIFT

Not sure how long that one will be valid.

I did some research around garage lifts and jacks for my garage. I came to a similar conclusion as Dale. The quickjack is great for doing wheels, suspension, brakes, oil changes, etc, but getting underneath the chassis to do any work is cumbersome. Which can be totally fine if thats a rare thing.

I'm sold on the DANNMAR MJ-GCE 2 post. I have an attic in my garage, so the half-heigh posts would fit fine. Its not high enough to where I could walk under the car (but I'm 6'3", that ain't happening anyway). Plus I have the ability to unbolt the move the post that would be in the center of the garage to make room for whatever reason.

The Danmar MaxJack is a great product for sure. In my case, I would have to tear out and repour some of my garage floor as I think it is not up to the spec needed for the Danmar. But if my floor had been good enough I probably would have gone that route also.

The QuickJack isn't a lift, it's an easy and convenient way to put the car up on a set of really tall jackstands, so anything you can do with jackstands you can do with the QJ (I've done a transmission swap on my Miata using it). The big strength of the QuickJack is that it doesn't require any special floor prep and it's portable. I have a 3500 that I keep in the trailer so that I can take it to the track with me (for the Miata -- my FD is a street car).
