oil temp sensor

Can anyone send me a picture of where the oil temp sensor is on the car. My gauge isn't reading anything and I'm not sure if its a problem with the sensor or something else and I'm not totally sure where the sensor is.

FDs don't have an oil temp sensor from factory, they have an oil pressure sensor which is just below the oil filter, and an oil level switch in the sump.

So my haltech gauge is reading -459. Would that just be a tuning issue and the tuner has to go and set it up or would it be something else

Well, one would hope whoever installed the gauge also installed an oil temp sensor, but there isn't one from factory, so no 100% way of knowing where it would be in the car...

Most likely, its in the oil filter pedestal (where the oil filter screws onto).

its reading that temp because there is no sensor. some of those multi gauges will display all of the parameters they are programmed to display even if there is no sensor for it. when this is the situation they will simply default to the upper or lower max value or show -----

So there’s probably not much I can do to fix it. It was working in the past. After I got the car back from the rebuild it stopped working. This was only a few days ago

If your car has an oil temp sensor, it's an aftermarket add-on. I added one to my car, I installed it on a replacement oil filter pedestal. The connector has two wires on it. Hope that helps.
