Wish I knew for sure David. Photos were shot by Eric Eikenberry. He's a writer and freelance photographer who took the photos and wrote the article for HPI magazine.

its a panned photo, meaning the picture is taken while the photographer follows the car with his camera to keep only the car in focus, how blurry the background will depend on the shutter speed used and the speed of the car.
1/50 to 1/100 shutter speeds should do the trick.

Cars looks great, love this shot. The light from the LED license plate lights is too bright though, I can't stand that wide trail of light that follows behind the car. This photo used a longer exposure so I'm sure it's a bit exaggerated in this shot, but eliminating that "underglow" effect from those lights is something I will fix on my own cars one day, haha.

Totally right. It was about a 40 second exposure with lots of flash fill to light the backs and sides of our cars. License plates are not nearly as bright as this image might lead you to believe.

Thanks RE-Mamamiya!

RCCAZ 1, awesome photos, love how clean the FDs look. You just needed a Montego Blue, Brilliant Black and Vintage Red to have a complete set of factory color FDs. If you ever need a VR for a shot, I know of a pretty sweet looking one in PHX area.

Very nice. Are you running Work Meisters? I swear there are FDs hiding in the Phoenix area that I have NEVER met. We'll need to touch base. Do you know Jose, Phillip and Masin? I believe they're on the West side of town.

One more pic of Dregg100, just to comply with thread rules! Note the ground clearance on his 4 inch exhaust

Not exactly sure of the specifics, but I do know he was about 30 feet away from the side of the road mounted on a tripod and using a fairly long focal length lens. We cruised by at about 40 mph 4 or 5 times. He chose the best of the bunch to use as his final pics.

lol, One setting doesn't work for every situation. It's not like, ohhh this shot is two cars rolling; Ok let me set my camera to two car mode aka 1/50th. Was that a serious question?

BTW,
RCCAZ, awesome shots man!

it really depends what you're comfortable with and the effect you want because both your photos come out very nice.

Oh at first i thought there was a camera car following along side..

Oh, i said that 1/30 was the setting for ever situation? 1/30 is MY sweet spot for the speed rotate while I pan my shots.

In, my experience i couldnt get the background to blur with the shutter speed over 1/30. So my assumption was if 1/50 shutter speed was the money shot then I figured there was a camera car along side so the background would be blurred (if they were traveling at a higher speed)

Dan you really need to get a life besides trolling my post and twisting what I say. Ironic you have all these smart *** remarks to say to me online but not to my face.

Nope, I have zero problems telling people exactly what I think to their face. I don't hide behind a keyboard. A few people can attest to that *tough guy rant over* hahaha

So next time I'm in your vicinity, you want me to come up to you and make a random comment about a thread you posted in a few weeks prior? hahaha Why you mad?

But seriously, there are photography forums you can go read to your hearts desire about panning shots, lenses and exposure settings. I figured a guy who posts decent photos would know a thing or two camera settings. As I originally stated each situation will be different (focal length, vehicle speed, distance from the subject, etc...) I am by no means a professional photographer and don't claim to be, but the person who took this pic is!

Time to get back to my life.

Oh you mean when I call a forum member out for lying and stealing IN PERSON and then he threatens to have his friends beat me up via text? I THINK we've moved passed that issue. Or how about when I refused to talk about the whole situation to a bunch of guys from NY then one of them went and lied and said I was running my mouth? Which situation are you talking about exactly? Funny how word spreads without actually knowing the truth isn't it? Also funny how this is the first time I'm posting about this on the internet.

Isn't this the post pics thread?

I don't post **** on the internet I wouldn't say to someones face and I'd probably be more sarcastic in person about it. lol, I don't even fight, this isn't supposed to be some tough guy post hahaha. Some people get me, some don't, oh well.
