i wonder if rx-8 headlights could be retroffited in the rx-7 bumper.....

i was thinking the same thing, but i think it would be too big or look awkward on the bumper.. maybe someone can PS it on to there?

 

It doesn't look like the rx8 lights would flow with the rx7 body. It's always possible to put the lights on the FD but I don't think it would look good.

it doesnt look terrible. doesnt flow very well and the front fenders look like ***, but thats just my opinion. i love pop up headlights personally lol.

Agreed - one of the biggest things I dislike visually about the 8 (and new Miata's) are the overly bulgy/chunky fenders, and that put them on the front of a car with some of the smoothest lines out there. That said, it doesn't really put the headlights down in the turn signal location either, which is where I visualized them after reading DeeSan's post..

 

But that rear bumper Half/half FD/FE is nice

dunno size of rx-8 headlights and I think they would not look alright on any 99spec bumper. If we could get real measurements of the actual unit... Maybe they could fit feed bumper, hiding under the bumper lens

 

dom240sx. Sharp car, but you really gotta upgrade to projectors instead of just throwing HID's in stock housings. Projectors are the best upgrade i've done by far.

 

+1 hid in reflector are should be illegal...

here's a quick photoshop (on a lame pic) of how the rx-8 headlights would look like. Shape is almost the same but size is still unknown to me. 99spec on the right and rx-8 on the left

 

I do believe it is illegal now actually. If the housing wasnt manufactured from the factory for HID's, IE projectors. Most places don't do anything about it, but texas has been cracking down on it. I got a ticket in my Trans am in Killeen for having HID's without projectors and HIDs in my fogs. tons of people moved out here to El Paso and are getting tickets now. good business for me lol.

o and DeeSan. That doesnt look all that bad. Nota lot different than the 99 spec light, but i bet the rx8 lights are DEEP compared to the lights on the 99spec.

 

I posted a photoshop in the old post pics of your fd thread about a year or 2 ago. Rx8 lights in the stock 93-95 bumper turn signal location. I made alot of people angry and got lots of bad response.
