I hate to admit it... but I actually like it.

I really like the retro look and feel, with modern inner workings.

I really like the vintage look, but I think I'd prefer to see it on an FC.

I really do like the looks of FCs without the front bumper, I think there does need to be such a kit for the FC.

But the FD body is much closer to the RX-3 body with its curvy rear fenders and rear deck extending behind the rear glass.

I like that it pisses people off, I would love to see it on the FC, I thought the cabin on the FD is too tall? but I know its hard to recreate a shape when the RX3 looks so good.

I am not the biggest fan of overfenders, I wonder how a narrow kit with standard datsun style flares would look like.

It will be way expensive so I doubt I will see one in person but it is cool.

I like it.

I have always loved the RX-3 for its looks and heritage of the most successful/legendary rotary race car,

but never wanted to actually own/drive/race one because they are old pos cars.

I don't like the ridiculous RocketBunny flares that much since they aren't really for function (only need +40mm rear to fit widest tires made). I would like to see the front end on a stock(ish) narrow body FD.

You have to remember that in Japan the FDs are ubiquitous in the tuning scene, so people like to see something different once in a while not sacrificing performance.

I won't get the kit because it costs money, doesn't make the car faster and puts it in a higher racing class. But it makes me happy that it exists.
As with all RB kits you should be able to buy the parts separately so the whole narrow body with this nose on it should be in fact possible.

If you look at the photo I posted above, it seems like the front bumper and part of the flare are one single piece. I might be wrong though...

you know this stupid thing is growing on me...

Even still:

I don't get why companies keep trying to change the FD into something that is completely unrecognizeable. Especially given that the FD's most attractive feautre is its looks.

FDs are all over the performance scene in Japan. They are really cheap and still can be made very fast, so many people have them.

I think the most attractive feature of the FD to these people is its performance potential, not its downright common (in Japan) looks.

In Japan the Options Vid guys said if you want to buy an FD for performance don't even bother with the early cars, go straight to 99-2002 model.

I understand things are very different here where we got the FD for 3 of its 11 years of production and it didn't sell well.
