Love the new lower side skirt pieces going into the front vent shape.
Mirrors seem too big to me in this most recent form- a smaller race mirror would fit more, imo.
Mirrors in general are a design compromise necessary from the manufacturer to meet governmental regulations... I think you could get away with something more aftermarket Craft Square race mirror size as far as mirror surface area goes, and the overall vehicle design wouldn't be hindered. Like a leaf instead of an appendage. (Atleast consider experimenting with taking them back some so they sit behind the outside A-pillars.)

the overall emphasis is to try to accomplish some bold modern and unique but still have a subtlety to it as though it were an OEM effort. Therefor why the original design started wild and now have been dialed back to a more mild state.

And to OP: While I'm not super stoked on the design (I prefer a more subtle look) I think its rad that you're leveraging the proper tools and newer fabrication methods to potentially rapidly make something that really appeals to a lot of people.
Also, and maybe you've already answered this, what are you modeling in? Are you using VRED to show off these renderings?

Like I said earlier this week I have grown excited about Mazda's design language for the Miata and have made an effort to adopt some design ques into the design. The haunched rear fender(which I think still needs significant working), the DRLs into the oil cooler vents, the raised catfish center grill(instead of a completely horizontal upper edge)
Still a lot of details and radius-ing still to do to refine and make consistent, but here is the latest gesture of the design. And I 'm still not satisfied with most of the rear bumper, I think I will need to explore alternatives that don't have the shelf of the bumper sweep up and terminate into the tail lights.

everytime I look at this design of your Rotr8, for some reason the rear tail light and that little spoiler don't seem to fit in with the looks.
maybe change it to stock? or change it totally?

yeah I'll probably bring in some more curvature into the lighting. They do curve forward, but I will play with bringing them inward as well. Each detail will have to come under a certain amount of scrutiny for production as well.
The DRL's shape was inspired from the Miata, but will be a more solid bar like the GT4's

yeah was considering that, but you are right. It's a balance between minimizing parts and building parts that aren't too large. I think I will move the seem down for a lower side skirt look.

You can always get a front end lift kit if you are worried. Its like 2 mini airbags that sit above the front suspension and is controlled inside the car, and can be activated for clearing speed bumps / driveways etc

Update - New rear bumper, blended side skirt(although it will have to have a split line for production),
refined rear fender and arch(although wheel well needs some work to be perfectly round), wider tail lights - really helps the fatness look of the old bumper.

Almost there. IMO, the only design queue that I disliked slightly was the FD's rear end and tail lights that just looked a little too "Ford Probe GT" for my taste. I'm still seeing some PROBE GT in your rear end design, but I really don't have any constructive suggestions. I think you've given the original FD design a fresh new modern look out back. Just say'in.... that i wish Ford had not created the Probe and left me with this visual image that's hard to wipe from my mental hard drive.
Great job!!
