LED Glovebox Light?

Hey Folks, has anyone upgraded the glovebox light to LED? Curious which bulb you've used and the results, if so.

I tried some researching but nothing looked right. Figured I'd ask the experts. Cheers

From what it looks like, it’s a standard 921. I just haven’t gotten around to swapping it out just yet. Rarely do I ever need to drive the car at nite…

Not sure if this helps but the OE number is 3625-75-139 for the bulb and LC63-55-431 for the bulb and holder, maybe that crosses to something useful?

Just a gentle tug. Everything comes apart with a slight tug. Don’t Brute force it and it’ll be alright.
which reminds me, I gotta change out the glovebox light of the 8 as well.

Yeah I wiggled it out. 921 looks too big? Or maybe they changed it over the years? Mine's a '94 and it's mounted in a little plastic holder which twists out. Then you can gently wiggle it out of the holder. Will take some pictures of it when I get back.

I’ve tried to get the socket out many times, it seems to spin freely in the housing but I never was able to pull it out, tried probably every position lol.

So True, one of the reasons I prefer the 94+ Dash

im sorry, you’re correct. In the FD the light is a very tiny light which I honestly think is fused right onto it’s connectors. I remember looking at it when I saw the plastic stopper was broken on it. I think when they were attempting to install the boost controller they managed to mess up my glovebox stopper.
Gotta see about attempting to fix that before I attempt the light.

Here's a look at the offending bulb. Got a little wedge base.
The socket has two notches on the side, you have to rotate it to the perfect position to get it out. It might be easier to remove the glovebox, to get at it. It is hard to reach if you got fat fingers like me.

Thank you for taking the pic. I was going too but I got a little sidelined with other things.
I don’t even know what type of bulb that is. It’s super tiny.

Thanks for the picture, that's a weird looking socket, I'll have to take a look at it again.

It does and probably is, I don't know why I'm having such a hard time getting the glove box one out, while the cigarette lighter one I had it out several times and it is actually removed now with the armrest in place.

Any pics of the bulbs or feedback on your experience? I believe you are correct. It is a type 74 mini wedge base.
