Knock sensor?

Can you please confirm I am looking at the knock sensor leaking whatever looks like oil down over the leading plugs? Also, I have a gauge inside the car for knock and retard from J&S electronics. Looks pretty old, I guess I'd have to confirm if it was stock or something aftermarket. Thanks!

Looks like it, as the knock sensor gets old, the filling inside will start to leak, you'll just have to replace it with a new one.

the knock sensor is filled with some kind of goo, and sometimes it oozes out.

It's a potting compound, it's just an epoxy to seal it up. They ALL leak, totally normal.

If it bugs you, smear some RTV over the top of it and you'll never see it leak again.

Leaking doesn't mean bad. Again, they ALL leak. Mazda didn't use a potting compound with a high enough heat range.
