JDM Spec, no water thermosensor

Hi Guys,

1996 JDM spec FD Rx7 has no thermosensor in the back of the water pump housing under the water temp sensor. It has the coolant level sensor in the front like normal.

Does anyone know if this is specific to JDM spec FD's?

Please see the attached pictures for reference.
Cheers.

Just to throw this in, the 96+ cars didn't have the fan switch on the back of the water pump housing. Mazda figured it didn't need a ton of sensors for water temp, the ECU in the later cars can control 2 fan speeds, unlike the 93-95 ECU that can only control 1.

I think if you have the later PFC and the Datalogit you can control both of those by software.
