Thumbs up Info Wanted: Connecting with owners of specific 1993 RX-7's

Wanted: Connect me with (or direct me towards...) 1993 RX-7's with VIN's:I have a bunch of old receipts, build photos, memorabilia and maybe a few parts that I'd like to give to the owners. I know the cars well and if they can answer a basic question or two about the car, I'll send them the stuff. I'm moving and don't want to take the stuff with me and don't think it's worth the bother to sell, but pity throwing the stuff away.

PM preferred. I'm not interested in starting much of a thread, but if I get info, I'll update this request and cross off who I've already found.

Robert,

I wish you luck in contacting the current owners! Do you have any old emails/phone numbers from them? From my own personal experience, I contacted the 1st owner of my FD after 14yrs and we continue to have a positive relationship.

Wish you were my first owner. I tried contacting him after finding some info on Facebook and they didn't respond.

Not a big deal, but a nice way of closing out chapters of life. I wish I had better info, but I don't. I have the next two owners of one of the RX-7's, which is where the trail fades and that was 8 years ago. Another was an ex-shop car for which I have even less info, unfortunately. The remaining was a friend's RX-7 that I invested heavily into in exchange for sharing track time -- he moved out West with the car, but not with all its records or parts, and he can't recall to whom he sold the car. I know all (3) cars very well.

I did VIN searches on each and found some additional info on one, which I'm pursuing, but I regret not having the time to do a great job on any of `em. Was just hoping I'd get lucky here (and that someone would get lucky by my posting!).

Cheers --

Wish I'd had you as a buyer!

Waxing poetic, many people treat cars as tools to discard. However, as the value of these cars rise, others seek to retain their provenance and cherish them a bit. Clearly I fall into the (odd?) second bucket, but on the offchance that their current owners are a bit like us, I'll give it a shot to make someone's day.

Robert & Nopistons,

Thank you both for the compliments! If you've been in the rotary game for some time then you earn an appreciation for this unique car.

This may be speculation but I believe the younger generation of drivers don't necessarily have that appreciation to maintain and upkeep a rotary such as the FD. They only see the car for its use, design language, and its performance. Their perception changes when things start to age or break down. Not to mention the cost to upkeep an FD can be a limiting factor.

Getting back to topic, Robert, I wish you the best of luck to contact the current owners of those 3 VINs! Please keep update this thread when more info becomes available.

If anyone has ideas on how I could look up owners based on current registration, I welcome the help!

I'm sure there are P.I's. who could do this, but my DMV in VA certainly wasn't helpful.
