How many original owner cars left?

Always wanted an FD RX7 , recently got a Turbo II and love it although I have been bringing it back to life so to speak, I always wanted to buy an original owner low mileage FD. I know they didn't sell many here, but being its a true sports car I am guessing many got parked and forgotten about. It made me wonder, how many original owner cars may actually be left? Did anyone here buy there FD New?

I was fortunate enough to pickup mine off lease from a doctor after his 4yr lease ran its course. While he was technically the first to “own” it, I think you can say I’m an actual first owner of the vehicle.
I would count myself as an original true owner of my 94 Canadian FD. 26yrs and still going strong.

As I stated to CS in a private message, I am the original owner of a 1994 Touring. Prior to the FD, I owned a 1986 FC, also brand new, and a used 1980 FB, bought is late 1980. I have had RX7's for 44 years (I'm 65 y/o). I bought the FD in Chicago in late 1994 or early 1995 for $33,500 with the list around $35,000. It was fairly easy to find one back then since that was an expensive car in those years.

Mikejokich and I have led somewhat parallel lives. My first new car was a 1981 FB, base S trim in Tornado Silver with black cloth, which I drove home just before Christmas in 1980. Sold the FB when I bought a new home, then a few years later picked up an FC Turbo II in 1987. Black with grey cloth interior. Sold the FC to my brother and a few years later bought the FD in July of ’93. Currently at 137K miles and still going strong. She’s a keeper! So I’ve had the good fortune to be the original owner of each generation.
