Going to JAPAN, what is rare or cheaper there!

Greetings!

I'll be in Japan for a little bit. What is cheaper or rare out there and hard to find in the states? I have an empty suitcase for stuffing car parts in. Lol.

I was thinking the rotor housings are cheaper there? Maybe 750 US dollars? Spirit R parts?

Let me know anything else I'm missing. I'll try and hit up Mazda and use my language barrier app. Lol.

Unfortunately they know what we want and the prices we are willing to pay. If it's not already all gone, then it will be pretty much the same price. Body stuff might be cheaper but you can't carry that back and freight kills the deal usually.

New interior plastics, light bulbs for the interior, exterior, etc. Stuff like that is all cheaper and easier to source there.

Don't forget, like 95% of interior plastics won't fit because of rhd/lhd issues. Maybe the rear plastics, but those are a bit big for a suitcase usually.

To the OP, check out yahoo auction and see. You should also check the shops like Up garage, re-amemiya, feed and such. Also check out book off for magazines. You can get things from the dealership like jdm arm rests too

Like a lot of consumer items, electronics, cameras, watches, etc, I've found it's actually cheaper to buy stuff out of the US - they like to take advantage of their population to support local manufacture. Last time I bought REW rotor housings out of Japan a long time back, they were 38.800 yen plus 10% tax, they've gone up a few multiples since. I'd be surprised if much in the way of plastics would be available new too, usually the first thing to go unobtainable, most of the rhd stuff is NLA here - and that's where they get it, if you were thinking early painted plastics, fergetaboutit!. At 15 or 16 years since last production, that makes it ancient over there and unappealing with the registration laws.

I've been to up garage there, not many FD parts. I'll try re-ameiya if there is one on Okinawa. And ahh, forgot about the arm rest.

I think your best bet on finding anything "cheap" would be at a junkyard. if you can find an FD at one, gauge clusters, lights, interior pieces, etc. pretty much any off the shelf part is available on RHDjapan for reasonable prices so you aren't going to make a killing bringing back aftermarket stuff.

The things we want can be easily obtained via rhdjapan and other sites the cost is pretty much the same

the things you can definitely make a killing on is big parts/ ticket items but on the flip side you got no way of bringing it back lol
Ie, bumpers..wings...hoods..exhaust... you get the point ,
bring back some authentic japanese candys and cosmetic care products and hair styling product.
