FYI on oem key blanks
FYI on oem key blanks
Just a quick FYI re: key blanks. I purchased 2 of these OEM Key from this ebay seller, which appears to be a legit Mazda dealer. One of my keys literally broke in half a couple years ago so nice to have a key with the original FD logo. Maybe these are generally available at your local Mazda dealer, but thought I'd share in case anyone has been looking for an oem key.

yes its generally available, FD01-76-201 is the part number, list price is $13.14 so that ebay ad is more expensive than a dealership.
i don't mean to burst your bubble or anything, but if you want an OE part, the next bit is to shop on price

Thanks, wasn't sure about general availability. Don't worry, I'm a pretty experienced price shopper but maybe a bit laxed on a $14 item. Since $14.11 was the delivered price (with tax and shipping) seems I did OK and we'll still be able to eat tonight.
If you're comparing it to picking it up at a local dealer then yeah the ebay price is probably higher.
Considering how much must of the OE dealers and parts suppliers charge to ship even something as small as a key, that price from Avondale Mazda on ebay is not bad at all.
