I am a Master student in mechanical engineering in Belgium and I need some information for my thesis. I am rebuilding an old mazda RX-7 rotary engine that is lying in our stock for 13 years. The plan is to first make it work with fuel and after that make it work by fuel and hydrogen (we will be able to switch for one to another fuel type for better analysis). I had the engine in pieces without any information about it.
It is a two rotors turbo 1.3L engine but I need to program the ECU by myself. Unfortunately, I don't have any fuel and injection map example and I don't want to risk everything by taking a random map on the internet.
Does someone has some example of a great base that I can work on ?
You're aware that all of our maps would basically be random maps from the internet, right? Have you got experience tuning any other standalone ECUs, or are you planning to learn on a turbo rotary?
Hello !
Yes I know that most of the maps will be found on internet and it will be random. That is why I am not really confident about it. I don't have any experience on tuning that is why I am asking if someone has an example of maps that could be a great base to start with. My university is not really helping me on this. Everything that I find on the internet are one map or another but not a full calibration or even multiple maps from one source :/
I still need to learn by myself how all this works because I have work on car before but never on ECU programming.
Thank you very much for the video I will check that with lots of attention
It looks like you have a S5 engine there, so I would check out the engine management section. Arghx has basically reversed engineered the timing and probably injection maps for those engines. If I remember correctly, they are mainly in the Rtek section, but I could be wrong. Just search his username and you'll run into them.
