FD roller discussion... what's a good price for clean roller going for.
As the title says...
Running FD's have gain in value but what about rollers.
Clean roller as in, clean title, intact interior, good condition exterior.
Pretty much just needing a motor mostly.
Thx Steve

Considering a clean FD brings at least $20k these days, I'd say a clean roller would bring at least $10k. And, as DJ mentioned it depends on exactly how picky you want to be about it. Subtract ~$10k from the market price of a non-roller example of the car. Anyways, that's my $0.02.

Yep. I've seen rollers with a gutted and nasty engine bay, ripped up busted interior, and sad paint. Really depends on how good the rest of the shell is, what it's going to need to be a running car again, etc.
Low end $8-10k for sure, maybe even lower if the car was super rough and hacked on.

I paid $26k for my 95CW base model with blown engine nearly 2 years ago. It had a lot of money in mods though and its one of the more rare models.
I recently passed on a CYM Ernie T was selling as a roller and he was asking $14k. He was willing to accept lower but it had mileage discrepancy and was caged. Still was a great deal for all that was included.
There is a running SSM Car in the FS section right now where the guy is asking $21k. Its the best deal I have seen in awhile. Buying a roller can be cheaper but can also be a major nightmare if it is missing any interior or electrical components as they are getting extremely difficult to access without paying a fortune. Engines and transmissions are still affordable in comparison.

I just paid $12k for a 93 Black/Red 5 speed with 83k miles. 5 owners, possible blown coolant seal. Mostly stock except downpipe, RB catback, Apexi Intake, Fluidyne Radiator and RB Rear Spoiler and side skirts. Car is overall very clean and above average compared to the standard 80-100k mile FD. Red interior is in overall great shape but the 93 panels look like typical 93 panels with scratches. Map pocket lid and passenger door handle both in excellent shape. I figure with a fresh rebuild the car is worth $22-25k. I'm currently undecided if I keep this car and modify the way I want( I have 99 front, pettit rear flares, feed front fenders, front and rear BBK, ohlins, M2 medium and intake, PFC and Commander, HKS Twin Power, etc all ready to install if I choose to) and sell my 95 CW Base.
I sold my Supra for low 40s 3 years ago and it would be worth 65k today. I dont want to look back on the CW Base and realize I left $20k on the table in a couple years.
Either way I figured I would share this information to help people gauge the current market.
