FD parts treasure trove discovered in Kansas
Sharing here because I haven't seen it posted on the forum yet. Pretty insane.

The guy who paid for all that basically purchased a second job for himself. These parts were more worthwhile/desirable 15 years ago when people were changing the exterior of the car more commonly. You have to find the right buyers or price everything to move. You're not going to find locals to come pick up a lot of that stuff unless it's cheap. Such and such bumper is only worth x thousands of dollars if you find a buyer, then ship it to them, hope you don't get deadbeat buyers, etc.
Now if he had found a barn full of pristine OEM 94-95 black interior parts, THAT would have been a treasure trove. The market for restoration is increasing, the market for rare race/JDM parts is decreasing.

When I met him at the storage unit to get the seats, I told him to restore the cars back to OEM with the parts he has and sell the left over rare parts individually.
That would make him the most money. After he did some research and saw how cool the rx7 coumunity was, he became more convinced to build the ultimate mazdaspeed car. I gave him the idea if he goes that route, he should make a youtube channel and take advantage of the parts he has because he could bring value to all of us by sharing some nostalgia. Seeing rare parts barley touched is neat to see.
Now I can't convince everyone to like the guy, clearly you all have your personal opinion. I personally think it's cool he's building a Mazdaspeed car and thinking about making a youtube channel.

What did he say to become like a douche? Honest question, the only thing I can think of is him posting in the beginning everything is for sale then changing his mind recently.

15k loan with your cars as collateral means he needed money quick. he may or may not be able to pay that loan down and a quick ~60% rebate on that loan is very lucrative considering everything else in there.
I spent a couple hrs going thru threads here where I could think the previous owner would have posted and couldn't find anything. Kinda weird considering all the parts he had and he definitely spent a few years collecting all this, so the only place where he could have done research for them parts and such would be here. And it's crazy to think that NOBODY has stepped in saying they knew him or recognize the cars.
i would have loved to find his build threads

It's one thing to know the value in what you have and post it for sale or say you're not going to sell it. It's another thing to ask about values, say you're going to sell, then say you're going to hold for attention, then say you'd sell if someone offered you a pile of cash. They're his parts and cars now, he can do what he wants with them, but hes conducting himself as an absolute douchebag by teasing and trying to promote his group for attention. I watched his live stream and turned it off and left the group when he said "Here's another one of these rare valuable carpets with a hubris smile while holding up a Bose rear carpet"
i'm a little triggered lately because I'm in the Tesla scene and small but high profile group of Tesla bros have been aggressively milking recent limited release Autopilot software updates for like and subscribes rather than trying to help the community. Youtube/social media car scene is getting annoying, that's all. And I'm not just being a curmudgeon.
Gotta chase that ad revenue algorithm.
If somebody wants to sell FD parts, sell them. I'm not interested in pumping up some rando's Youtube career. And I'm not hating on all channels. Rob Dahm was active here before he became a Youtuber, and I can't hate on him. I understand there is a certain hype game you have to play. It's just annoying when people are so blatant about it.

You can go to a number of junkyards in Japan and find nicer FDs than that. WITH genuine JDM parts on them.
That's a cool barn, and I spy some parts, but damn..I also spy tons of work. Sell those seats ($7k holy ****) about 3 times over and you might get one of those cars on the road. It'll still be rusty though.
.I'll bet if we could open up Fritz or Goodfella's shed we'd have our minds blown.

Those seats... lucky guy... im surprised there was a mazdaspeed a-spec kit in there as well. Anyways, midwest has all the luck in these "barn yard" finds. I doubt anything like this can be found in CA. Haha.
As i was reading all the post here, i did see the "tesla scene"... oh god the tesla scene...
