FD no headlights all of a sudden?!
My rhd (Japanese imported) FD is suffering from the headlights not turning on or popping up. This is a brand new problem and I haven't driven the car in about 6 months but as soon as I did, they flickered and the headlights retracted down. Weird. What I've tried/done so far:
At a loss now. If the headlight switch seems good what else can I chase to find the issue? The car is in pretty good condition and isn't very crispy in the harness or anything. I'm the second owner.
Anyone got a wiring diagram of the headlight on/off circuit??
- Park lights work fine with the stalk switch rotated.
- The raise headlights button on the side of the instrument cluster works fine. They go up and down.
- Pulling back on the stalk flashes the high beams when the lights are raised with the cluster button.
- I've drilled out the little roll pin in the stalk switch and pulled the headlight switch stalk apart and it's fine inside. Contacts are cleaned and solder is all good according to the tutorial I found on here.

Could be FD01 CPU #2. The cause of all sorts of electrical gremlins.

Impossible to find new. Usually very expensive used and it'll still be decades old and failure is near-inevitable at some point. Michael Gagne can fix them.

Sounds like TNS relay to me.
You can do a quick check by using the relay next to it (I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head, but it's the same relay). It's in the front bumper relay box, so it's a quick and easy test, provided that box wasn't moved for a vmount or anything.....though, if your box has been flipped upside-down, ala the original Greddy vmount way, then I would almost guarantee that is the issue (ask me how I know haha)

Fixed it!!!
So the headlight relay next to the fuse block on the battery terminal was dead. I confirmed this by pulling out one of the fan relays with the same relay base shape as the headlight relay and they swapping it into the headlight relay spot. Magically the headlights now work!!! The headlight relay must be corroded internally or have issues.
I'll have to order a new headlight relay.... Bit of a challenge in Australia but I'll find one
