Exhaust value thoughts?

I bought my car with an HKS Super Drager installed. I immediately removed it and it has been sitting around for many years (indoors - no rust). My guess is that it had somewhere between 5 and 10k miles on it when removed.

I am thinking of listing it for sale and would like some opinions on a fair price.

Thanks!

It's worth what you want for it

Thanks for...responding, but I must point out that your response is both not helpful and 100% wrong.

It's not rare or valuable if that's what you're looking for. Just like most things that have no real desirable market, it's worth what you want for it. If it's taking up space as you say then list it for whatever that space is worth to you.

The "shoot me an offer" realm of selling things is such a waste of time. If someone offered you 30$ for it, you woild say no, so you have the capacity of setting a value. Just put a price on it or use the vast history of the forum to see what that exhaust has sold or not sold for.

And I'm not wrong. It is worth what you want for it. If what you want for it is based on "market value" then it's worth what you want for it

The reason I said your first answer was neither helpful, nor correct, is that my post was asking for responses giving "...opinions on a fair price."

Replies like: They made a million of those and they stink. I'd say asking $30 would be fair. -or- That's the best one ever! I wouldn't take less than $5000. would have been helpful.

Your initial response was not. Letting me know it's not rare or valuable IS actually helpful - so thank you for that.

Hey John!

If you take a little time and clean it up, I'd say around the $300 range. It's cool because it's an old school exhaust and no longer made.

Big thing is shipping, you're looking at $90+ to ship an exhaust easy. If you can find someone within a comfortable drive that wants it that makes a big difference.

I'd probably start with any local FB groups or local RX-7 clubs then go from there.

Dale

If its immaculate I would say as much as $500 for somebody that is looking for that specific exhaust and you are willing to wait for that person but could be a while. IIRC the Super Draggers didn't fit the best on FDs. I removed a few for customers that replaced them with High powers or just N1s. One issue was they hung so low because the can is so big they tend to get destroyed fairly quickly.

I'd say 250 plus shipping if it's really clean and even at that price it might not sell quickly. It's likely one of the least popular catbacks because of oversized can and tip.
