Saw this CYM for sale in Gastonia, NC. The lot it's at is definitely asking too much. It looks pretty clean though, and just because it's a CYM I'm considering picking it up. Just wanted to post it here on the forum first and see if anyone here knew the previous owner or the story on it. Has some minor upgrades by the look of it. Don't want to make a flight if it was traded in due to bad compression or something sketchy though. Any details the community could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Haha it has the exact list of mods I had on a red FD I sold, apexi intake, greddy SMIC, racing beat exhaust, that same aluminum AST and powerfc. My car was quick and reliable with that set up.

That said, the price is not too far off if the car is very nice in person. Watch out for the missing rear badge, it's usually a sign of repaint or possible accident.

I also have some autocheck reports that are going to expire so I used one for you, it seems to check out with 3 owners and verified miles and no accidents on record...take this information with a grain of salt though, a lot of stuff is not reported on carfax or autocheck. It's lived in florida, south carolina, alabama, and oklahoma.

 

Looks like it has a broken power antenna (pet Peeve of mine)

 

Price seems low honestly. Still has the under hood liner and most mods are reliability driven. If paint is clean, no stories and the compression is good I think it is priced very fair.

is the price this high just because of the color? what would an equivalent R1 VR be worth?

 

CYM all other things being equal will be higher priced than VR. $28-30,000 for this car is market or market-light these days.
