Crankcase vent closed

I have circled this (not my picture) because I have a question.

when I was doing the whole under UIM repair on my motor, I saw this little cover slightly open on my car and thought that was a defect so I fully closed it and tightened it down, now my turbos are smoking and I’m thinking this might be related.

is this the crankcase vent? In this case did I screw myself over by fully closing it? Fully closing it probably damaged seals and gaskets no? How open should it be and should I go back in and open it up a bit?

That's just an inspection cover, flywheel is underneath.

Humorously enough, you have also circled the crankcase vent lines in that picture.

ok thank god, sorry for my lack of knowledge this is my first time going through everything and I just want to make sure. I freaked out for a second. I put everything back to stock besides that so I’ll be fine
