Cosmetic upgrades for an FD
Hello! Just bought my boyfriends 1993 FD. I wanna change it up a bit but I'm not too sure where to start. I want to put re-amemiya kit on it eventually but it may need a rebuild soon so I'm gonna focus my money on that. I'm looking at what kind of colours suit this car best besides the atomic teal, I was thinking fierce fuchsia or something along those lines. Any input would be great. Thank you!

Ultimately the cosmetic appeal boils down to the owner's preference. There are many body kits out there that some owners adore while others detest!
Cosmetically, do what makes you happy and disregard the opinion of others. It's your car
I think you're on the right track for focusing on reliability first!

There is an increased interest for OEM+ type cars it seems. More and more people are dropping kits for a more stock 99-spec look, with small subtle upgrades (carbon blades, feed sidesteps, mazdaspeed lips). These are often the higher priced cars, with easily "un-doable" upgrades to keep value up.
But ultimately its up to what you like and prefer. I am an OEM+ fan, but i know that my car looks like 100 other cars more or less and does not have much uniqueness to it.

Definitely focus on getting the mechanical stuff sorted out first.
You can also get your wheels painted a complementary color to Fierce Fuschia (looks like a deep chrome or brushed aqua/teal would work well): https://www.quora.com/What-colour-go...h-fuchsia-pink
I like a deep metallic purple or blue (e.g., Mazda Deep Crystal Blue Mica) and if you are looking at custom paint colours anyway, a 2-, 3-, or 4-way color blend can look good (but it will be expensive and hard to maintain) – check out the 2004 Mustang SVT Cobra (Terminator) MystiChrome as an example. According to the article below, it incorporates green, blue, purple, and black:

The Japanese have the wildest color combos, so check Instagram or Pinterest pics of FD3S or 7s Day for inspiration – they've tried just about every color combo and parts mix.
