Contents of FD Tool Tray

Like probably most, the tool tray in the back of my FD is short a few items. Anyone recall the original contents? Thank for reading.

I can snap a pic when I get home of my JDM tools - I know there's some pliers, a reversible screwdriver...maybe more

Thanks a lot. Well, I guess maybe I'm not missing anything then. Got the jack, handle, and chock mounted in the right, and lug wrench and screw on the left. Still a couple open slots on the left, but OK! Thanks again.

Cool if you could, thanks. I remember my Toyotas coming with something like that. Thanks for the reply.

Yup - stacked on top of each other. Don't know if US spec got the tool kit or not...

Yep, we didn't get the 2nd tray in the US, that's Japan-only.

OK then, feellin' pretty good! I have a similar OE plug wrench from my old '83 Land Cruiser FJ60. Assuming the far left slot in the lower tray is the rod for the plug wrench, or something else?
Just making conversation, I know this isn't a critical item. Thanks again.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those second trays and the tools to complete my kit. I'm pretty sure I'm missing some of the original tools too.

The JDM tools are necessary for doing road-side engine overhauls

I used mine and a 1/4 set I keep in the car to remove my front bumper to get recovered haha. The Screwdriver is a JIC that fits the FD screws nicely.

I've seen that. They made the top tray. They make great stuff, and I like what they made, but I'd prefer to get a whole stock kit if possible. I reached a point a few years ago where I wanted to get all the stock option stuff I could get my hands on, and clearly that hasn't left. I have thought about doing a complete custom set though, basically what JP3 did for the top tray but do it for both, that way I could customize it with tools I would use.

I used to keep the hatch full of tools to where I could possibly do a rebuild on the side of the road.

Looks like I am missing two pieces from mine. Are there individual part numbers for these?

I think those 2 spots were for a sheet metal plug socket and a rod that went into it to turn it. I think that was only on the Japanese cars. Don't know how useful that would be in real life.

It's same set of tools as period mazdas, like miatas. I think some of them are available new still, but your best bet is hit ebay or the junk yard (or YAJ) for mazda tool kits.
