Not stock at all. It looks like something homemade

Not stock, but I don't think it's homemade. That looks like 3" mandrel bent piping and that isn't something that many people cobble together.

Any markings on it anywhere?

It may just be yet another obscure Japanese cat-back. There are HUNDREDS that were made over the years in Japan.

Just dug through all my old Hyper-rev JDM magazines, not seeing it in there.

I don't think it's American-made, there were only a handful back in the day and it really doesn't look like a US exhaust.

I've owned probably 40 cat-backs and I'm pretty good at recognizing them, this one is a stumper Looks decently made, if it's polished up I think it would be a decent muffler.

+1 its nicely made, i can't say i recognize the can/muffler design, and there are hundreds of different FD exhausts. literally every tuning shop had at least one

Whatever it is, I'll bet it's not too obnoxiously loud with that muffler.

No markings anywhere on it. Owner says it was pretty quiet when he had it installed.

yes its got a layer of some kind of fiber, and then metal over the pipe. if you took that off, the actual pipe looks like a wet cat

I have one just like this, but the outer part of the tips have rusted off. It was on my 93 r1. The entire car was stock except for a pfs piggyback ecu I found under the carpet and apparently this muffler. The exhaust had the original precast and main cat installed along with this muffler. My car was original to the DC area before I bought it from the original owner. I posted a thread just like yours a while back, but no one knew for sure. I can post up some pics of mine if you wanted to compare.
