Boost issues

Hi, I’m new to rotary envines in general but I recently acquired a JDM 1995 and I did some mods to it including an emissions delete including OMP delete, I installed a Power FC ecu and completed the air learning but am getting little to none primary boost, the vacuum reads about 400-415 at idle but when I press de gas it either go on boost for a second and then goes back into vacuum or just stays in vacuum and even increases to almost 600. This happens bow 4500 rpms, if I go higher then the secondary turbo kicks in and the engine boosts. Have anyone experiences something similar? Any ideas would help.

Welcome to the board. You will find tons of information if you search around. This link is in the FAQ section. You may want to spend days or months searching this forum and researching these cars before you start trying to mod anymore. Take a step back and research the proper way to upgrade or they can become a costly lesson in a hurry. What mods are done and what restoration have you done to the car at this point?

As far as restoration all’ve done is mostly cleaning what could be saved and replacing what I couldn’t. I replaced all gaskets in the turbos, the LIM gasket, UIM gasket and throttle body gasket, also deleted the air pimp, OMP, ACV and the double throttle since it was already broken and deleted all the solenoids related to emissions. I followed a diagram that I found here in his forum, I checked a dozen times to make sure I didn’t missed a step, other than that I haven’t done anything related to the engine. The car was running when I got it but the idle was weird due a LIM gasket blown which is why I started this whole restoration since the turbos had to come out anyways. I also replace the stock ecu with a power fc. The car starts right up and idles beautifully but it was feeling underpowered and when I looked at the boost gauge I noticed what I described before.

I would make sure your fuel system is in good shape as well, check which pump you have and the condition of the tank etc. What type of intake do you have? If you have cone filters you could have pushed the filter on too far blocking the tube for the first turbo but most likely its a solenoid/vacuum issue. Did you replace any fuel components when you had the LIM pulled off? That would have been the best time to replace the FPD which is known to leak and cause fires.

Thank you. I did replaced the fuel lines and I have a new duel pump to replace the one it currently has that doesn’t look oem either. I ordered me a vacuum/pressure tester and my next step is going to be to test all the solenoids. I have the stock air box with a k&n filter, i guess I’ll go through the FAQ to see if I can find something that points at this issue and like you said, learn a little bit more.
