I left a comment about re-calibrating the speedo and linked Dale's thread. It would be cool if he did the calibration once it's on the road.

Dale, you've been internet famous for a long long time around these parts 😁

Funny though, as I watched and heard him say Dale, I had a feeling it was you haha

Just saw this on his Instagram and am not so excited any more. I hope that he changes his mind about the body kit and goes for something more tasteful...but, then again, this is Youtube and 12 year olds love Rocket Bunny body kits.

Pretty much all the cars he's done have had over fenders or wide body kits or whatnot, I expected nothing different. He has done some pretty solid DIY paint and body so we'll see how it all ends up.

I thought he was going to do the suspension next. Maybe he should wait on the body kit. What do you guys think? I'm not a fan of body kits either.

I was kind of disappointed with the body kit too. Whatever, it's his build. I like the cars natural look. Mazda did a good job designing it's body lines. That's just my opinion. Front lip with a 99 spec wing is good enough for me.

Anyways, Im hoping for things in his build that should be addressed first like new suspension bushings, including the pillow *****, water temp gauge (since OEM isn't accurate), rewiring the OEM wiring harness for the fuel pump (common failure).. stuff like that. Y'all know what I'm talking about.

Like I said, it's his build but I'd like to be able to relate with him on opinion about whats important first. The stuff I listed above is the process I'm going through now. I'd understand the body kit more if he did it towards the end of the build.

Man today's episode was a bummer. I was really enjoying this thus far.

I just ran into this sort of thing last weekend while looking at an FD. Had a nice, but not for me, wide body kit. I crunched the numbers, but I basically accepted it would cost less to get a roller and source a rebuilt motor than it would to remove the kit and return the car to stock.

Oh well, I'll somehow have to look past this guy's choice; I guess he is a Youtuber after all.

And in agreement with everyone else, I thought the suspension was a much bigger concern.

Nice find. Tail light stuck on is definitely due to the rubber nubby disintegrating.

If you guys prefer more traditional stock body builds, you can check out Howzertech. He’s also a fellow member too!

I find it interesting how “mature” this forum has gotten in recent years. It seems that single turbos and body kits are becoming taboo and that strikes me as odd. All we talk about in the FD value thread is original this and original that, with many feeling that mods are hurting value.

It didn't seem that long ago that quality mods were highly valued. It seemed like everyone wanted to be in on the next best thing. Now, it’s like “reliability mods or stock bro” lol - it would seem there’s been a paradigm shift...

After seeing him cut the left rear fender, weld it up to the inner wheel liner, and schmeg the whole mess with fiber glass I just cringed. No weld primer, no attempt to rust-proof the inside cavity and he lives in soggy wet snowy Oregon. But, then he'll probably sell the thing to some unsuspecting fanboy who will wonder why the left rear fender is rusting off a year after he buys it.

Y'know, I was really excited for this build when it popped up but as time has gone on, I just keep cringing more and more. He is half-assing everything and it just looks like he's pandering to his audience and his sponsors.

It also bugs me that he basically half-asses the whole job then depends on the comment section to fill him in on what he's doing wrongs then he makes light of the angry folks in his comment section. I don't want to be an enabler. Dude should do his research and get it right the first time. Like Howzer Tech.

I love a lot of what he does but this car is going to be so shoddy.

Final nitpick: He shouldn't be *proud* that his woman is helping him (OMG women can do things?!) he should be *thankful*.

He doesnt want to take the time to research much of anything. Just throw it all together and see what happens. Coilovers that dont adjust. Ridiculous wheel spacers. Wheels and tires that dont fit the body kit.

Now he wants to drive the car from Oregon to LA with those mods on a stock ECU. I truly hope he doesnt blow the engine. But if he does, I will be saying "I told you so"!! (I emailed him twice about this)

Wait, wasn't this the guy who hacked on some square metal tubing to the front of a rollover Evora instead of replacing the crashbox?

One shining light here is it's a $3000 RHD car. The car was probably going to head to the crusher, so I don't feel bad about him hacking it up.

The wheel fitment is a disaster. Doing a wide body kit requires some VERY careful fitment. I don't see how that's going to not rub.

I foresee him ditching the big intercooler, that's a BIG damn project to take on and he doesn't have the time for it.

I give him props for pushing himself and trying something new, hopefully he backtracks, learns from mistakes, and it turns out to be a decent car.

We always tell the noobs to take your time and do your research (before you do anything) so you dont waste time and money. I guess that's not the way he works. That being said, I'm still watching

This reminds me of something that would have been on "Pimp my Ride" at this point. Didn't paint jambs, didn't make fender liners, removed the painted skirts, crappy carpet install...

Hey, he turned a turd into a shiny turd. He literally polished a turd and will make a bit of money out of it while being a narcissistic vlogger. Win win win.
