Anyone with a pfs intercooler willing to take measurements?

I bought a used pfs intercooler from someone years ago but one of the pipes was removed. I assume the previous owner had no air pump and ran it straight to the turbo outlet.

I have stock twins and the efini pipe, so I intend to return the intercooler to it's original configuration. I have two 90 degree cast elbows that I will be cutting and welding to the intercooler. I need help figuring out how far away from the intercooler the pipe will be when it's running parallel to the intercooler. Anyone able to help me out with some measurements?

Worst case I just make it fit however I want, but I figured I would make it as close to the original that I can.

Here is what I'm working with.

Hopefully these images help. If I understand your question, you want the measurement of the space between the back of the intercooler face and the 'horizontal' portion of the left charge pipe -- and that space is 40mm or about 1.5".

Thank you. That was the exact measurement I was looking for. These pictures will help a lot. I love this forum.

I figured I would say thanks again and post an update . I started with a beat up and mutilated old pfs intercooler. I bought some cast aluminum elbows to attempt to restore the intercooler back as close to original as possible. After many hours of cutting, grinding, cleaning and welding I finally have the intercooler almost complete. I just need to complete the final weld and then sand/polish the intercooler to match the rest of my intake.

Looking great there, bud.

Your setup makes me wonder if I can get away with using the HKS tubes on mine. Aside from the aesthetic improvement, my elbow on the TB side is cracked at the UIM flange.

I'm debating replacing it with a GReddy setup just because of the compatibility improvement with pretty much everything else (battery mods, air conditioning, etc). But, if I decide to keep it, using the HKS tubes would be a very substantial improvement over the black plastic.

Unfortunately that hks elbow is pretty rare and people want a stupid amount of money for them because of it. I looked for a very long time (every day) before I finally found one. My backup plan was going to be using a greddy elbow and welding some piping to it to make it all aluminum, or just fabricating my own intercooler.

I actually have a greddy elbow and a few other items I need to put up for sale.

That’s going to look very nice. And I also like the ‘full length’ HKS elbow. Will you be using that (bov?) bung? And what are the two plugs near the hanger? FWIW that’s where I relocated the IAT on my car.
I used an old (iirc) M2 hard pipe cut to length with a Greddy elbow. But it doesn’t look quite as elegant as your’s.

I just got my brand new engine into the engine bay this month. This car hasn't been on the road in 5 years lol. I was still putting everything on the engine and connecting the harness up when I decided to go ahead and get the intercooler sorted out. Most of the intake piping will be coming back off so I can finish the install of the engine.

When I bought the elbow someone had already installed the bov. I intended to use the stock bov, but I haven't decided what I want to do yet. I think it's a fake hks bov, but I polished it up nice too lol.
