Anyone else own a 1995 LHD?
In February of this year, I purchased a 1995 Mazda RX-7 from its original owner. I wasn’t entirely happy with the color of the interior, but I figured I could replace the parts with black pieces over time. I’ve had a particularly hard time finding OEM carpet. I have a couple grand saved up if anyone here has what I’m looking for. I haven’t had much luck in the marketplace. I’ve been told there were only 500 1995 US models produced.

My 95 had tan carpet and tan seats. I wanted red interior, but the parts were too hard to find. Had an automotive upholstery shop reupholster my seats red and purchased a red aftermarket carpet from (https://www.nsxcarpet.com/collection...arpet-products) (required alot of work to trim and test fit).

I reached out to him recently with the list of things I'm looking for. His response was, "These items no longer available from Mazda. Online search." I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled.
Patience is the key. I'll be picking up another 95 soon and may think of changing out the black carpet to red, if i do and you haven't found anything, i'll reach out. But to be honest, your best bet is to order from nsxcarpet.com.

Patience and good fortune provided me an opportunity to acquire my black on black '95 base. Depending on where you're priorities lie, you could probably find someone with a '94 that has black interior that would be willing to trade his car for your '95.

Chances are, I won't find anything until tomsn16 does another full part out. It's even less likely it'll happen to be taking apart a '95. So thanks!Patience and good fortune provided me an opportunity to acquire my black on black '95 base. Anyways, the 94-95 interiors are the same, correct? It doesn't necessarily have to come from a 95. Unless you're super **** about it (which if you are, i know how you feel as i am the same) getting your hands on 94 interior stuff may be more bang for your buck. Some sellers may even take advantage of how "rare" the 95's are and charge more.
You got a great deal if your 95 was taken good care of. 40k miles is low. I would think a fairly mint 40K mile FD would go for $35k easy. I have a 95 with 17k miles. Vintage red with tan carpet and seats. If I ever found mint seats in red or black I would change out. I don't hate the tan, I just love red interiors.

I don't have a problem with tan either. The carpet is an ugly shade if you ask me though. I felt inspired by a marketplace thread posted earlier this year. I'd prefer my interior look like this:

It sounds like you scored finding the car you did. It reminds me of one that I found recently. Some lucky enthusiast is gonna get a great deal on this '95 sometime this afternoon:

OP, here's my advice. I had a Montego Blue 1995 model with tan / black interior that I bought with 49k miles.
Original non disturbed parts of a color you don't prefer are far better than a bunch of used interior parts that have been exposed to sun, warped, etc. Once you pull that interior apart it never goes back together as well as when it was built. It will rattle more, not fit as well, the plastic fasteners will crack and break and will likely need to be replaced.
My old '99 Corolla had a great interior for servicing. You could find parts at Autozone, you could pull it apart and put it back together with no issues. FD interiors are flimsy, and used parts are never as good as brand new ones (I've bought plenty of both). Just leave it. You will be disappointed with the results of changing things over. One of the best parts about a low mileage FD is that nobody has pulled the interior apart yet.

I have a MB LHD 95, it was missing the carpet when I bought it but I had a 93 I was fixing to sell and swapped the black carpet from it into mine.
My buddy has my old 95 LHD that I bought back in 2007. That one has aftermarket black carpet that I put in back in 2010. I am not too impressed with the fitment.
I think the majority of the 95's had tan carpet for some reason.

Mazda basically cut costs over the life of the 92-95 FD, especially since sales were disappointing. That's one of the reasons why you see less unique interior parts on later model years (tan interior having less unique tan pieces in later production). In '95 they only built a few hundred so it's basically a bunch of scraps from '94. They weren't going to order a bunch of interior parts from suppliers when they knew they were ending production for the US. Probably by early 1994 they had already decided to cancel the US spec FD for '96, not wanting to spend money to meet emissions.

My 2nd one (current car) says on 08/21/1995 "Vehicle manufactured and shipped to dealer"
10/26/1995 it was sold at an auction. then 11/13/1996 it was first registered to the 1st owner.

191 is the last 3 of the vin. Its MB with black/tan interior. I actually don't know which option package it had likely a PEP as they made the most of them. I will have the dealer do a vin check for me next time I need to go there.

its montego blue with tan, engine 129630
342 was the other one I owned. It is originally from Chicago area. Was stolen in 1999 and recovered. Sat in a guys barn in Kalamazoo MI till 2007 when I bought it. I sold it to my buddy in 2011. He still has it. I have actually been working on it lately to get it back on the road after it sat for 8 years after I sold it to him.

well that's mine. The dates I got were off an AutoCheck report. Figured it was a PEP. It has full black interior now and Feed Widebody.

That adds up! I just looked at the AutoCheck for that car and it was Sold in OK. Was first registered in Chicago though to its 1st owner. That car also now has full black interior. It still has the original paint job though.
