Its interesting how divided people are on the subject of this. I guess its not just that simple.

I really feel proud when someone wants to come by and see the FD or ask me to take them for a ride. I would gladly share that experience even with a stranger.

But letting someone else drive it, thats where it becomes uncomfortable, stranger or friend alike.

If you're a good friend, and a good driver, and don't have a history of dumb behaviour, and I'm sitting next to you...sure why not, as long as you drive it gently.

I keep going back and forth on this. Over the years, I've had MANY powerful vehicles and let people drive them. I remember when I had my supercharged E92 M3 another owner was considering going supercharged wanted to see what it was all about, so sure, why not - I let him drive it up and down the street a few times with me in the car. Was he a "friend"? Not really, just one of the local M3 guys that used to get together.

I also had to sell that car eventually, and guess what? The buyer actually wanted to drive it before he bought it - so what do you say "no, sorry, can't drive it - you're a stranger".

Shoot, I learned to drive manual in the 90's on a 300ZX TT. Friend had one, let me drive him around... it really doesn't seem all that unusual or as crazy and people are making it out to be.

My car is NA so I don't have those kinds of torque problems.

If Stevie Wonder could read this, he would be offended.
