I would be very curious to see proof that a Montego Blue FD left the factory as an R2. Maybe someone switched over parts to make it an R2 after it left the factory. I dont believe (with out proof) that it was made that way by Mazda.

i'm looking at data that is entered before the car was sold, so a typo is possible, but if someone converted the car, i wouldn't know about it. so the after the factory switch scenario won't show up in my findings

The only R1 colors are CYM, BB, and VR. R2 colors would be BB, VR and SSM. That's it, there is no MB R2 from the factory that I'm aware of. However if there is it would be a cool piece of info. but it needs to be verified or 100 percent true. I'd also love to own a low mileage 95 MB R2 if one existed
I'll post up some VINs for 95s I've owned along with color and model info when I have a chance.

If someone obtains the VIN the easiest way to verify the factory color is to call Mazda Customer Service (or what ever they are calling themselves these days) give them the VIN and they will tell you the paint code, they will also tell you what model it was when it left the factory R2, Base or PEP. At least they had that information 10 years ago when I called.

i'm in for contributing to a 1995 registry if someone creates a document to track them all. I have #127 with an 04/95 date. my coworker totaled one a few years ago so it would be cool to keep track of this type of information as well, especially for future 95' owners

4/21/1995 to be exact
Was anyone able to confirm if the VIN numbers stop at 530? I'll be listing my 95 CW Base model for sale soon and it would be great information to have if it was one of the last 4 FDs produced for the US Market. Thanks for any help.

12/22/1995. we'll have to sort the list, but it does look like its in the last 20 or so, when they built a bunch of cars in one day and we know they weren't in order, its not possible to say which one came first, or last in a given production day.
the FD is not bad, looks like there were about 8 cars on 12/22. in 1985 they were making 300 Rx7's or so a day

All,
Please do not inundate j9fd3s with individual requests for your car's birthday or if it was the "last" one produced. The information he discussed earlier in this thread will be presented shortly.
Cheers,
George

the precedent for this adventure is this book, https://www.biblio.com/book/ferrari-...iABEgIh2PD_BwE
it has an overview of the car, why they built it, who built it, and then there is a page or two for each car, including vins and registrations. this would be a big book for the 1995 FD, but it is possible. even the 1994, with ~3500 cars would be an immense undertaking (although i will look for first and last vins)
