Drivers door (i hate the colour... )

What i used to fix the passenger door handle:

and how i fixed it:

Before and after:

Tomorrow more interior parts going in, and so is the engine.

Bob, first time I noticed your thread. Looking good so far!! Did you get my package yet? If not, you should be receiving it within the next day or two. Let me know when you get it!

Yesterdays update below...doesnt look like alot, but got alot done.
Its now 6:53 AM and ive been out of bed 20 minutes. Im gonna play a game or two of age of empires 3, then get out there and get started. Today i want to finish getting the engine hooked up, wire the lights in, get the wheel well liners back on, change the brakes, bleed the brakes and clutch, and generally get the car to a state where it is actually driveable!

Tomorrow will be spent fitting the diff brace, rear brakes, and generally cleaning the car hopefully!

Well, its 15:49 and ive just finished making the loom for the lights (i didnt want to mangle the stock connectors so i used spade connectors to connect to existing loom) and spraying the brackets for them:

I finished hooking the engine up, filled her with coolant and:

Needs quicktime

next up after a small break is fitting the diff brace, rear brake pads, light brackets, and the wheels. Headlight covers come back from the painters tomorrow, then she gets a full days washing and we are ready to go!!

Congrats man! I've been fallowing this thread from the beginning. Great info and pics. I'm also rebuilding mine right now also (more like waiting on parts). I actually started my project b4 you but haven't even recieved all the parts to assymble the motor yet. This is very inspiring. Any compression #'s yet?

Also after you had all the parts.. about how long did it take you to assymble the short/long block? Also it looks like your clutch assy. is on the motor before dropping it back in the car. But in another pic it looks like you attached it to the tranny, then bolted the motor to it. What exactly did you do? just curious.
thanx

Thanks. I know my rebuild will take me longer to complete than yours did, but I'm going to check and double check to make sure I do everything correct the first time. The list of things to do is quite long and a few things are going to be custom made, so I'll have a few trial and error sessions for sure. I guess I'll follow suit and start my own "Rebuild" thread soon. BTW, I never got through to Ray. The line was busy for about 20 mins and after that, I kept getting transferred to his answering service
