I go to ED Howard Mazda in sarasota, there's a guy name Ranee and he's the only rx7 mechanic, and he placed first in national competion, plus there's about 25 third gen and some of the older ones there.I got my new engine installed there and tranny,turbos,ect.... Plus every third gen owner i talk to that goes there is nothing but positive about the guy,Plus i have to give the mechanic props, cause i had a electrical problems and he went through everything, and trust me there's alot of wires, and he fixed it,never had any problems since.

Definately check out the guy at Ed Howard Mazda. I had him look at my 94' before I purchased it, and he seemed to know a hell of a lot and I have heard nothing but good things about him. We just have to get him away from the dealer. But I've been looking in the Tampa bay area and have found no one. I'm here in Clearwater. Good luck and post a reply if you do find someone. thanks

Tampa
Jeff Gladdish is the owner of Maztech @ 4810 N. Clark in Tampa (just off of Osbourne close to Ray Jat Stadium) 813-874-0937.
He has taken care of me for 5 years or 65,000 miles.
Just rebuilt @ 112k
He is a true rotorhead and has a top notch staff! They all drive Rotors!
Tell him Foz recommended him!
He not only knows his stuff, but will let you know if there is an inexpensive way to fix it.
For example, my driverside door lock jammed and I couldn't use it. I was ready to buy a new one, and he fixed my old one for $25.
