Been driving it a lot, as it will be in hibernation soon (I will be geographically separated from my car for two years)

I had to change steering wheels...RE Amemiya D wheel

Installed the Momo Competition

Yes, I know the RE Amemiya is the better wheel. I had to return it, as it wasn't mine.

She looks great with the new S-Wheel over sized grip"beefy" It's very comforting to know that you are no longer a bus driver.

So I finally picked up my FD just 3 weeks ago. Haven't even registered it yet and here is how she sits in my garage:

This was all prompted, mind you, by a simple oil change and coolant flush with a Banzai AST going in. The car was OEM fresh motor wise save for a downpipe and turbo timer. So I decided to investigate the downpipe and was eyeing a spot to place the sensor for my AEM UEGO WBo2 when I noticed this:

The arm off the actuator for the secondary turbo exhaust "door" (I believe this I have labeled this correctly, please correct me if I am wrong) was off the arm! Completely. So this would explain why I felt the car was sluggish in low rpm, because (again correct me if I am mistaken) both turbos were being spooled, but the air control valve was still blocking boost pressure from the secondary to entering the engine. Thus at around 4800-5k rpm I felt a very big surge in power. I have no clue how long it's been like this...I'm guessing for some time, the previous owner was a little clueless (read; nice way of saying he's an idiot)
And while I was down there I also noticed that the nuts holding the twins to the manifold, ALL were finger tight, and even one was backed off a stud a good 1/4 inch!
Thus I decided to also pull the downpipe, it was REAL fun for the first major work I've done on the FD. Finally got it out without having to pull the Y-Pipe, I was happy about that. We'll see I guess about getting it back in.
Once she's back on the ground I hope to get some real pictures taken. I'm starting to understand why people refer to the FD as the "money pit" so often...like I said I've only owned mine for 3 weeks and I bought the following already:
-MOMO Mod 88 320mm wheel
-NRG Gen 2.5 quick release
-Dakei hub with air bag delete
(those were all necessitated so I could fit in the car, I'm pretty tall and it's a miracle I can fold myself into the car)
-Banzai AST
-AutoMeter triple full a-pillar gauge pod
-AEM Analog 52mm boost gauge
-AEM Analog 52mm coolant temp gauge
(AEM UEGO WBo2 leftover from previous project car)
-Oil
-Coolant
-fittings for putting the coolant sensor in the TB coolant hose
I'm eager to see how she drives with the actuator connected now...

Dude, are you serious?? I never comment on these pics BUT that wing just looks horrendous. The rotary community cannot bare the pain anymore, just stop now...and while your at it do us all a favor and push that car off a cliff...
its hilarious how everyone has an opinion here...

I know i did my job when, people start complaining...

these pic's inspired me...

do you're thing starscream fd!! the more you mess with the purists the better, its his car let him do his thang!! my 2 cents is that it would look a lil bit better if you shaved the top fuel spoiler down about an inch, just so it flows a bit better with the car...but anyways keep it going buddy, great job!!
Yah, that wing is aweful. ... And what is it with these "i (heart) haters" thing. Why do people thing that it's cool that no one else like their taste. Is that really something to be proud about? I guess if you only want like 10 people to actually respect your car and taste, then go for it...
I'm not saying you have to follow trends and be like everyone else...but when people are blatantly saying something looks terrible, i don't get how someone can be proud of that...

Oh well..."to each his own", or whatever everyone else says..
